Author's Note: Hello everyone! This would be the final Aichi x Kourin oneshot that I'll publish here. Thank you very much for all the support throughout all these years that I have written about this couple despite most of them being Out Of Character! (Younger me always does this just for the sake of content but man, it was fun and kind of cringey at the same time) I really enjoyed writing about this ship and I still support this ship after all these years that we were all in pain because they cannot be a canon, those years that we all cried every time those two interact, and those headcanons that we all make just because of them. Aichi x Kourin is a really good non-canon ship. Don't worry guys, I still ship them and I will always be doing so, but I think I have written enough oneshots for them. I know some of them are weird, I admit I don't really know why I wrote those stories as well, but I guess it was just me being silly.

Anyways, this is the last one! This one is really a sad one since I wanted to write a genre that I really love writing, and that is angst. Please enjoy and here are some tissues :D

Song: The Bad List by Z Berg and Ryan Ross

===

If it were me I'd write another song

Something in a major key

You and I will always be

The dream

"Kourin-san?" She could hear the voice of that person ringing in her ears. As her fingers raised from the ivory keys of the piano, she glanced around to find the blue haired man smiling back at her. She returned that warm smile and stood from the seat.

"What is it, Aichi?" She asked, and noticed that Aichi's smile was a bit off. Kourin just understood what that expression meant and Kourin just let it be.

It was a scream when we were young and dumb

Acid on Topanga Beach

In my mind we'll always be

That free

"I heard that music, it felt soothing in my ears. Were you making a new song?" Aichi asked her back and held her hands. Kourin gave a nod as an answer and she looked back at the piano.

"It's a new song that I have thought of, something..." Kourin glanced at the blunette and smiled once again, though it was the same crooked smile that he had. "Something that brings us back to reality."

But something changed, along the way

Winter never turned to spring

"Something that will bring us back to reality, huh..." Aichi repeated, with a sigh afterwards he could only embrace her. Kourin returned that embrace, it was a bittersweet moment after all. "What kind of reality is that? Only keeping us apart..."

It's Christmas Eve

You set the house on fire

It's snowing on palm trees

The river has run dry

Kourin nodded at that statement, she could only look at the snow outside through the window. The room was dimly lit with the candles around them. She could hear his light sobbing, and Kourin gave a few pats on his back to try and calm him down.

"Aichi... it's alright... please don't cry." She said to him, and yet he shook his head.

So let me set you free
