Chapter 47

"I'm not in the mood to fight with you, right now." Teagan told her other ex boyfriend. "And I also will not talk about Sierra or Jay."

"I wasn't coming to pick a fight with you, Teag." James responded. "I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to Cotillion with me?"

Teagan looked at James with big eyes, "I'm sorry.... I feel like I didn't hear you correctly. It sounded like you asked me to Cotillion."

"I did." James stated, to which Teagan bursted out laughing. "I don't see what's funny about that."

"You seriously think that I would go to Cotillion with you..." She replied, but when she saw James' smile turn into a frown, she started to feel bad. "I can't walk on that ship with you, James. I may hate Sierra but she doesn't deserve that."

"And why not? She's the one who divorced me. She left me, so I thought-"

"You thought that I would be your rebound?" Teagan questioned. "That's all I am to you, James. You've only been with me after you and Sierra ended things. I'm tired of being your second choice. I deserve better than that."

James took a deep breath and reached for Teagan's hand, and she let him put his hand in hers.

"I'm sorry that I ever made you feel like that, but you know how I feel about you." James stated. "I have loved you ever since you came to Auradon."

Teagan looked past James and saw Jay standing there heart broken. She looked back at James and took back her hand, "I love you, too, James," she paused, "But I haven't been in love with you in quite a while."

James looked back and saw Jay standing there, and huffed, "You're choosing him over me?"

"No. I am choosing my happiness over you, and I am sorry that I made you become this horrible person." Teagan responded. "This is the best choice for the both of us."

Teagan walked up to James and kissed him on the cheek, and then walked a few steps to Jay. He was just staring at the two of them, and Teagan could just see how broken Jay looked.

She put her hand on his arm and asked him, "Would you go to Cotillion with me, Jay?"

"I thought that you were going with James."

"Why would you think that if I just asked you? That would be silly if I asked you when I already had a date." She replied, but when Jay didn't respond, she continued, "James asked me but I said no because I was no longer in love with him, and I haven't been since the summer."

"Why?"

"Because I have fallen back in love with you."

Jay's eyes widened in surprise, and he just stood there in shock.

"Normally this is when the other person responds." Teagan stated. "Unless if you don't feel the same way-"

She was cut off by Jay leaning in and passionately kissing Teagan. He put his hand on her cheek and deepened the kiss.

Jay pulled away from the kiss and told her, "You don't know how long I have wanted to do that."

"So, is that a yes to the question?" Teagan asked, he nodded in response and she smiled, "Also I never got an 'I love you, too'."

"Well," Jay paused to put both of her hands in his, and he looked into her eyes to continue, "I don't think I have ever fallen out of love with you, Teag, but I do love you as well, and I will love to accompany you to Cotillion."

"Accompany me? Why did you use a big word? You could have just-"

"Stop." Jay replied. "I have to go to practice but I will pick you up at your room, okay?"

"Okay," Teagan smiled. "Oh and thank you for not breaking my heart there."

"I should thank you."

"Why?"

"You're giving me your heart, which for you is very hard to do." Jay replied. "I'm glad that you're finally willing to give me a chance."

"I think I always knew it was you, but I used other people as excuses not to be with you." Teagan commented. "As you know I am not good with expressing my emotions, so," she paused, "Just go to practice before I go on another rant."

"Okay, I will pick you up at seven."

"Sounds good." She smiled. She turned around and headed straight back to her dorm room.

Teagan needed to tell Emma about what just happened, and the fact that she went back to the Isle, and chopped off Harry's hand..

"Actually, I might just leave that part out." Teagan told herself. "But I will tell her about me and Jay. I am sure that she will be thrilled about that."
