DRACO'S POINT OF VIEW

I clutched onto her and hugged her now limp body close to me. I cried into her shoulder trying to memorize the smell of her through my tears. "PRINCESS! PLEASE! I LOVED YOU!" I said through sobs. I felt a hand on my chest, then a warm hug from behind. "I'm so sorry Draco. I can't believe it." Blaise said. A heavy weight on my shoulders made of pain, shifted right to my heart and sunk it down. This wasn't a shatter. My heart didn't shatter. It was suffocating. Wallowing in the waters of pain and love, wishing to drown.

"Draco, what did she give you anyway?" Asked Pansy. "I-I don't know. I don't want to know. But I'll never forgive myself if I don't look." I said through sobs. I opened my hand and saw... a small golden snake ring with diamonds. I looked over to her ring finger on her left hand, and sure enough, no ring. "I-I never g-got to keep my promise to her." I said quietly. "Oh Draco..." Luna said, coming down to hug me. "Draco, are you alright?" Blaise asked. "N-No. and I never will be again. GOD I HATE YOU Y/N! I HATE THAT I HAD TO LOVE YOU SO MUCH THAT LOOSING YOU IS LIKE LOOSING ALL OF MYSELF! WHY? Why. Why would you leave me alone? I thought you promised you would never leave me."

"Draco, I can make you a potion that will make all the pain go away." Hermione said, trying to help. "No. No. I like the pain. I want to feel my soul crushed. Because love is pain. And I never want to stop loving her. So I'll choose to never stop hurting." I answered. She nodded in understanding. "Draco, I'm so sorry. We all are. We're all here for you. If there's anything we can do-" "Close her eyes. Please. "And- make sure I don't hurt myself, or- or drink it out. A- and be my good friend." I said. Luna smiled through her tears. "Of course. And- I'll be your sunshine when you don't feel like you have any." Luna said. She closed her eyelids gently. "Look. Now she can be sleeping."

SIX MONTHS LATER
NARRATORS POINT OF VIEW

It was six months after the war. Hogwarts had finally been rebuilt and the students returned to receive a proper education instead of dark magic. Even though everyone was glad to return to Hogwarts, I can't say that anyone slept easily. The Weasley family all cried themselves to sleep every night. Harry mourned the death of his favourite teacher, Tonks, and a man who risked his life to save him. Though Draco no longer cried himself to sleep, I can't say he had it any better. Maybe even worse. Luna, Hermione, Ron, Harry, Blaise, and Pansy all remained loyal and good friends to Draco. They all comforted him, and tried to make him smile.

After a long day of classes, Draco walked up to his room and sat by the window. He opened the door and breathed in deeply. "Hi Y/N. Are things okay up there? I hope you're much happier, although I can't help but wish you were down here with me." Draco said. "I know you won't answer me. I'm only talking to a star. The brightest one in the sky. But I'd like to think you're on the other side listening." Draco said. A tear ran down his cheeks. He quickly wiped it away and smiled. "I still wear it! See? I put your promise ring on a chain and I wear it around my neck. Don't worry. When they buried you, I told them not to take the locket off your neck. Maybe your on the other side talking back. I'm sorry Princess. I told you I'd try not to be sad. I'm going to be sad anyway. And I'm not moving on. When I gave you this ring, I made you a promise. That I would never stop loving you. I plan to keep that promise if you don't mind." Draco said.

"Draco, don't you want to come eat with us?"

"Sorry Luna. Not hungry."

"Draco, when- you- you made us promise you wouldn't hurt yourself."

"And I'm not."

"You haven't eaten in eight days."

"I'm not hungry."

"Draco! You listen to me right now! Come down with me and eat!"

"Fine."

"Well? Come on!"

"I just need to do something really quickly. I'll be out in a second."

Luna nodded and left the room. Draco turned back to look out the window. "Goodnight Princess. I love you." He said before walking back out to catch up with Luna. "Good. Now let's go." She said.

When they came into the great hall, Hermione ran to Draco and gave him a hug.

"Oh my lord. Draco."

"What?"

"You're skin and bone. When's the last time you ate?"

"It doesn't matter."

"It doesn't matter?!? Luna?"

"Eight days."

"... eight fucking days..."

"I just haven't been hungry."

"Roll up your sleeves and show me your wrists."

"Fine."

"Good. God Draco. What the fuck it wrong with you?"

"Excuse me?"

"Don't hurt yourself! You need to eat!"

"I'm fine. Really."

"Draco. You're hurting yourself. Why?"

Draco shrugged to seem as if he didn't care, but his eyes shed tears anyway. "I don't want to live anymore Hermione. Eating doesn't seem important to me anymore." Hermione band Luna exchanged worried looks. "Draco. Come. Sit with us." Luna said, leading him down to the bench.

"I j-just miss her so much."

"I know. We all do. Here. This'll numb the pain." Hermione said, handing Draco a potion bottle. "It's temporary. It'll also give you an appetite." She answered. Draco took the bottle in his hands and opened the lid, pausing for a moment. "No. That's cheating. I'm getting through this without magic." Draco said, handing the bottle back to Hermione. "Here Draco. Shepherds pie." Luna said, handing him a plate. He picked up a fork and fidgeted with it in his hands. "Draco. Please. You can do it. You need strength." Luna said, scooping up some of the savoury pie and handing it to him. Draco took the fork from Draco and took a bite. After the first bite, he realized how hungry he was. He ate the rest of the slice of pie, then some fruit afterwards, but with each bite he cried a bit more.

"There. Doesn't that feel better?" Hermione asked. "No. I feel worse. You really hurt me today. But you're good friends, so, thank you."
