BLOOD WARNING
I woke up very early this Tuesday. I did my natural makeup, put on some gold rings and bracelets, curled me hair and went up to the astronomy tower to watch the sunrise. There, back faced to me, I saw a tall boy with platinum blond feathery hair. I creeped up behind him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He jumped and turned around. "Fuck Y/L/N. you scared me." He said. I laughed and joined him to watch the sunrise. "Look how pretty the sun is when it comes up. Kind of like a symbol for hope. Don't you think?" I said. "Exactly." He responded. We smiled.
We went down to the great hall for breakfast. Immediately, I saw Diggory. Malfoy must have followed my gaze, because he turned to me, hugged me, and said "good luck Princess." I nodded, and went to go to the Gryffindor table to eat breakfast. I could tell the someone was following me. I sat down, and put some strawberries and a croissant onto my plate. "Ms. Y/L/N, I'm re-" he started to say. I snapped above my head and he stopped talking. I turned around slowly and said "continue." "I'm really sorry. I made a huge mistake. Please forgive me. Just give me another chance. Please." He said.
I stood up and said "walk with me." I walked out of the main hall and went into an empty classroom. I waited until he got inside, and locked the doors. "You were saying?" I said. He laughed and turned to me and threw a punch. It hit me on the side of my face. I felt something hot dripping down my chin from my lip. I used my thumb to slowly wipe the liquid away from my lip. I felt it drip onto the floor. Blood. He smirked and said "that's what you get for slapping me at the ball." "You're going to regret that." I said. "Oh yeah? What are you gonna do? Throw yourself off of the tower again?" He laughed at his own joke. I charged at him and he fell onto the floor. I stepped on his face until I heard a snap. I continued to kick him until he said "STOP!" He was crying from pain at this time. I left him in the classroom and walked back to the main hall.
"Y/N! What happened?" Asked Hermione. "Nothing. Why?" I said. "Well you have a very visible black eye, and blood is flowing from your lip." She said. "Shit." I whispered. "Uh nothing. I just fell on a rock." I lied. I felt a cold hand grab my arm and yank me away. "Malfoy! What the hell are you doing?" I yelled at him. We continued to pull me until we got to the dungeons. He pulled me into the Slytherin common room and sat me down of a couch. He grabbed some cotton balls and held them to my lip, soaking up all the blood. "Wanna tell me what happened?" He said. He looked angry as he cleaned away the blood.
"I slipped and fell on a rock." I said. "Try again." He responded. "I erm- well Diggory threw a punch." I said. I could see the murder in his eyes. "But I took care of it!" I said. "Fuck. Princess what did you do." He said. "I may have broke his nose and kicked him." I said. I saw him grin slightly. "Okay. I'm going to put some alcohol on your lip to clean it. Okay?" He tilted my head back, and poured some cold hydrogen peroxide onto my lip. I winced in pain as the icy liquid violently fizzed on my open wound. He took his wand, and fixed my black eye. "Let's head to class."
We got into potions and parted ways. Malfoy went to sit next to Blaise, and I sat next to Ron. "Today we will be learning about the blood replenishing potion." Said Snape dryly. I looked into my potions book and read the instructions. "Put cauldron over a blue fire. Cut life leaches in half and squeeze it's guts into the cauldron. Add 20 fluid ounces of water and dried lacewings with the skin of a boomslang. Mix 20 times clockwise. Add one teaspoon of powdered unicorn horn and one pair of the wings of a wild pixie. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, strain, and bottle." I followed the instructions exactly and the potion turned a brown colour. I bottled the potion and labeled it. "Ms. Y/L/N." would you like to show everyone the potion that you have made." Asked Snape. I came over to the front of the class. "A perfect brown shade. Beautifully bottled. Appetizing smell. The right consistency. Very well. 10 points for Gryffindor."
I left the class smiling. I unscrewed the bottle and drank a couple drops. I could feel all of my strength and energy returning to me.
"Y/N. the golden egg. Hold it under water." Said Harry. I had forgotten all about the egg.
The rest of the day went by a blur. At night, I put on a swimsuit and brought a towel. I went over to my nightstand. I picked up the egg which was resting next to the severed hydra head. I took Harry's invisibility cloak and headed out to the enchanted lake. I held my breath and brought the egg with me underwater. Unlike the usual screeching, when I opened it, I heard a beautiful song. "Come seek us where our voices sound, we can not sing above the ground. And now alone you'll have to look, to recover what we took." It sung. "They can't sing above the ground, and I can only hear it underwater. "Mermaids!" I almost yelled. I have to find a way to breath underwater and fast. The second task was in two days!
