DRACOS POINT OF VIEW"Y/N, I'm really sorry. Please meet me at the Astronomy Tower. I want to talk." God. What the hell was I doing? I took the piece of parchment and threw it in the fire.
ONE MONTH LATER
YOUR POINT OF VIEWA bunch of Gryffindors were deep in the forbidden forest, having a party. We were sitting around the fire when we all heard a loud hissing noise. People screamed and pointed at something behind me. I turned around slowly and saw a giant serpent hissing at me. "Stop!" I yelled. The snake turned around and slithered back into the forest. I turned around and saw everyone looking horrified. "What's wrong?" I asked. "How could you not tell us that you're a parsletounge?" Asked Hermione. "What?"
I ran up the marble staircase to Dumbledore's office. Before I could even knock on the door, it opened wide. "Ah. Ms. Y/L/N. I was wondering when you would come and visit." He said with a smile. His eyes shone mysteriously through his half moon spectacles. It was almost unsettling. "May I come in?" I asked. He nodded and I walked in. "Take a seat." He said. I sat down on a burgundy armchair, across from the one behind his desk. He sat down in front of me.
"I found out I was a parsletounge. What does that mean?" I asked, desperate to get right to the point. "As you know, parsletounge is a very unique skill. Tom Riddle was the heir of Slytherin, and his gift was passed to Harry when he tried to kill him." He said. I nodded. "Long ago, there was a rumour, that when Tom Riddle lost his power, there was born another heir to Slytherin, who would possess newfound power." He said. It all hit me. "But surely you don't mean-"
"Yes Y/N. You are the heir of Salazar Slytherin."
When I had finished talking with Dumbledore, I ran to the room of requirements to clear my head and think. "I need a distraction." I thought over and over until the wall dissolved and showed a door in its place. I entered the room and saw a pile of daggers and knives sitting on the table, along with a boxing dummy.
I heard someone enter the room. "Y/N? Are you here?" The voice asked. It was Blaise. "Yeah." I said before throwing a knife at the dummy's head, and stabbing it square in the face. "You throw knives now?" He asked, half scared. "My- mother- taught- me- all- sorts- of- things". I said in between grunts. Throwing knives were a great distraction, and pure, physical effort. When I had thrown all the knives, I walked over to the dummy and started pulling them out. "So what's going on?" He asked. "Turns out, I'm the heir of Slytherin." I said. "WHAT?!?" He shouted.
"But you-you're-"
"A Gryffindor. I know."
"Then how-"
"When Voldemort almost died from failing to kill a newborn baby, he lost all his power, so apparently a second heir was born, hence, me." I said.
I gathered the knives in my hands and started to throw again. "So how're you handling the breakup with Draco?" I stopped throwing for a moment. "I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Maybe. No. I just, you know, thought we had something."
"You did, it's just-"
"I guess he's happy that we've broken up. He seemed to have taken it well. At least better than I did."
"Actually, he had a really hard time. I don't think he's over you."
"Really? I- what do I care? He's the one who bloody broke up with me."
"Do you miss him?"
I adjusted my stance and threw as hard as I could, sending the knife through the dummy entirely, and sticking to the wall.
"Fuck Draco." I said. I knew deep down that I didn't mean it.
"Well, if it's any consolation, he misses you. A lot. I know he does."
My heart froze for a moment. I shouldn't care, but I do. I hated feeling so week, but I would take him back the moment he asked me. Blaise was walking out the door.
"Blaise?"
"Yeah?"
"I miss him too."
"I know."
DRACOS POINT OF VIEW
I was doing a potions assignment when Blaise walked into my dorm. "Get out Blaise. I'm busy." I said lazily, in no mood for distractions.
"You won't believe what I found out about
Y/N."I set down my quill and turned to face him.
"What about her?"
"Oh you are going to love this."
YOUR POINT OF VIEW
The next morning was a Saturday. I hadn't been feeling like myself the past couple of months, so I decided to put some effort into what I wear today. I found an outfit that made me look brave, even though I was terrified on the inside.
I walked down to the great hall, knowing everyone would already know about the Slytherin situation. By association of Harry Potter, I was somewhat popular, and news about me spread like wildfire. Naturally, the whole school would know.
I walked over to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Dean. I watched as a few first years scrambled away as I walked. "So. Y/N Slytherin. Huh?" Asked Ginny. "Yeah. Who knew?" I replied.
"Oh hey. Y/N, can we talk? I want to ask you something." Asked Harry. "Erm- yeah sure." I replied, following him out of the great hall.
"This year for DA, we were thinking about focusing on physical training, just in case we're ever in a situation without a wand. If you're in, we're having try-outs for the fitness coach place. I'd love for you to try out." He said. "Wow. I mean, that sounds like fun. Plus it would be fun to humour all those boys who think they're stronger than me. What should I bring? Knives? Bow and Arrow? Boxing gloves?" Harry looked a bit scared. "Oh my Godric. I'm totally joking. I mean, we're not even allowed weapons in Hogwarts!"
"Oh. Okay, well, see you at tryouts?"
"Yeah! I'll be there!"
"Great. Three o' clock sharp. You know where."
