NOT ACCURATE TO THE BOOKS
YOUR POINT OF VIEWI ran back to the Gryffindor feeling torn. I felt conflicted. My best friend was part of a dark group, claiming he had no choice. But he did have a choice. He could have died. And Harry- I don't know what to think of Harry. But regardless, I'm true to my word, and I shan't tell anyone about the dark mark. Besides, he's just a boy. He can't do any real damage.
The next day, I spent all of my effort to avoid Malfoy. And because of that, that meant taking the long way to potions. I ended up coming in 10 minutes late.
"Ms. Y/N. You're late. 10 points from Gryffindor plus an afternoon of detention." He said. I groaned and looked for a place to sit. "You can sit next to Malfoy." He said pointing to the only seat available. "But professor can't I switch seats with Goyle?" Malfoy complained. "Now Mr. Malfoy, that's an afternoon of detention for you too. And don't make me take any points off of my own house." He replied. I rolled my eyes and sat next to Malfoy, trying to stay as far away from him. "Perfect. Just what I needed. A whole hour with Malfoy. So much for avoiding him." I thought to myself.
During the lecture, I couldn't focus. I felt Malfoy staring at me. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat and whispered "Hey Malfoy. Got a staring problem?" He shifted his gaze back to Snape and continued listening to the lecture. We started taking notes in class to help with homework. I saw Malfoy raise his hand. "Sir, can I be excused? I need to go to the restroom." He said. "Fine Mr. Malfoy, hurry up." Said Snape, looking annoyed. Malfoy stood up, and walked out, brushing my back lightly on his way.
I pretended not to notice, and kept my eyes glued to my notes. I felt my face getting hot. "Oh no. I can't like Malfoy. He's a death eater." I thought. I felt chills go over my body and sickening butterflies erupt in my stomach. "No. His touch is just unfamiliar." I thought, trying to convince myself.
Soon, he slipped back into the classroom and back into his seat.
After a long 2 hours of potions class with Snape, I made my way down to defence against the dark arts. I was slightly nervous because the last time we had D.A.D.A, I cut myself.
I walked into the classroom, and this class, the desks were in place. I sat down at a desk next to Luna. "Alright class. Today we will be learning how to defend ourselves against dementors. Can anyone tell me what a dementor is?" The class fell silent, and Hermione raised her hand. "Ms. Granger." He grumbled. "A dementor is a creature that tries to take all of the happy memories out of you. A dementor can also kill you using something called the dementor's kiss." Said Hermione. "Correct. 10 points to Gryffindor."
Moody explained the incantation- "expecto patronum" and said that "the way you cast it is to think of your happiest memory." I had no idea when my happiest memory was. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. The only person who could successfully cast their patronus was Harry. That day, most of us left the class feeling a little discouraged.
At the end of the day, I went to bed early, feeling tired and worn out. I woke up around 1 am, and decided to sneak down to the common room to grab a tea bag and brew some tea. On my way down the stair, I heard whispers. I saw the shadow of three people. The first one, a girl, spoke. "You have to tell her. I don't care if it's over, she deserves to know." She whispered hastily. I could tell it was Hermione. "Yeah mate, it's just messed up. Dating someone for a dare?" Said who I think was Ron. I couldn't believe my ears. I wished and prayed that this was a dream, but I felt tears sting my eyes. "We weren't even official." Snapped Harry. "You still dated and led her on mate." Said Ron back.
I couldn't deal with this. I felt tears running down my face. I stepped out into the common room, and I saw Harry's face go white. I choked on my tears and said "you- you dated me for a dare?" "Yeah but-" I cut him off. "You know what? It's fine! It's so funny! Ask a girl out of a dare! Why not! And you know what's hilarious? I actually thought for a moment that I found a boy who cared about me for once!" I felt my face getting hot, and I ran out of the room. I ran and ran, to the astronomy tower. I held my arms out to my sides like a bird and breathed in the sweet night air, and felt like my worries were drifting off with the wind.
"You're not going to jump are you?"I heard a soft voice say behind me. I turned around and saw white hair illuminated in the moonlight. His grey eyes were sparkling off of the light of a thousand starts. "No- Malfoy. I wasn't going to jump. Just calming down- although I may now that you're here." I smirked and I saw his expression, he dropped his eye lids slightly and looked kind of hurt. "You know what? I was going to ask you if you were okay, and comfort you, but you're acting like a little bitch Y/N." he said coldly. He stormed off.
I turned back, and sighed. I walked down to the black lake. I sat down on the docks, rolled up my pants, took my shoes and socks off, and sank my feet underwater. The coldness of it took me by surprise and it felt like ice was being shot through my soul. Wait- no. I turned around, and saw dementors.
