BLOOD WARNING
NARRATORS POINT OF VIEW"Parting is such sweet sorrow," what a beautiful end to a beautiful poem, in the love story of Romeo and Juliet. That phrase will ring true to Y/N very soon, although, perhaps not it sweet as the poem describes. Subtract sweet from the phrase, and you get "Parting is such sorrow." That may seem just like a normal "au revoir mon amour," which is a French translation of the phrase "goodbye, my love;" what you are forgetting- Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy...
As Draco walked up the stairs to tuck the children in bed, he got a strange feeling. If there was a word for an eerie instinct that something is horribly wrong without having no such evidence of it have been that way, I would've used that word.
Draco reached for the door, but right as his hand laid on the gold handle, the door swung open. Draco was met by his sandy haired, child, Scorpius. Fear and panic was scribbled all over Scorpius's face. Scorpius, looked as if he had seen a ghost- his silver eyes glinting with fear and somewhat remorse- tears beginning to spill out of his eyes. Draco noticed a cut on Scorpius's hand- a dark gash that dripped blood down to the floor. "Scorpius? Let me see your hand. I'll make it all better." Draco said, taking Scorpius's hand, and pulling out his wand. The small boy yanked his hand out of his father's large ones. "Dad, they took her." Scorpius stuttered.
"Took who? Who's they?" Draco questioned. "DAD THEY TOOK LYRA." Scorpius shouted. At this, Y/N ran upstairs. "Scorpius, show us." Y/N said. Scorpius led them to his sister's bed, which was empty. A few drops of blood were scattered on the messy sheets and blankets. A single black feather was placed- almost intentionally- onto the pillow of the older twin. "I don't know who it was or what they looked like... it was dark- I tried to fight the person, but they gave me this." Scorpius explained through tears, pointing to his gash. Y/N and Draco started to cry. Draco kneeled down in front of Scorpius, and hugged him tightly, the both of them sobbing into each other's shoulders.
All of a sudden, Y/N screamed in agony. She dropped to the floor, from a sudden pain. The pain centralized in the palm of her hand, which Y/N looked at through tears. The deathly hallows. The deathly hallows was burnt into her hand.
"What does this mean?"
"I- I don't know... can we get to Hogwarts? We may need to speak to Dumbledore's portrait."
"I'll apparate us there."
"Erm- I'll- I'll call Blaise to watch Scorpius while we're gone."
Soon, Blaise arrived with many questions, all to which Y/N replied with "I'll answer later." Draco apparated them to the headmistress's office.
"Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy? What're you both doing here?"
"Professor McGonagall, I would really love to explain, but this is urgent. We need to speak to Dumbledore."
"Oh, alright then. Right this way."
Professor McGonagall led the pair to a large portrait hung over the headmistress's desk. "Ah, Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Y/L/N, and together, I might add. How wonderful it is to see you again." The portrait spoke.
"Actually we're married now, but that's besides the point. Lyra's gone missing."
"I don't exactly follow Mr. Malfoy."
"Lyra's our daughter. She went missing. And now I have the deathly hallows burnt into my palm."
"Oh no."
"What's oh no? What do you mean oh no?"
"Death has taken his price."
Check.
"Does that mean she's-"
"That depends... was there anything else left behind from her disappearance?"
"Yes- this feather."
Draco pulled out the large black feather from his pockets.
"Your daughter is not dead."
"Oh thank goodness."
"She was taken by faeries."
"You mean those blue tiny things?"
"No, those are pixies. Faeries are death's messengers. They do his bidding in return for strength and power. Human sized beings with god-like powers, and black raven wings."
"So it's possible we can still find her?"
"No, I'm sorry, but no. Faeries don't live in our world. Faeries themselves can enter realm to realm. The faerie realm is tucked away in a small corner of the universes. One of which time works differently. One which is impossible to reach, or find."
"So you mean-"
"Your daughter can never return."
Checkmate.
