The Chosen One part 2

MALFOY'S POINT OF VIEW

             I woke up that morning and went to breakfast in the great hall. I was especially nervous for the second task. I had no idea what it was, but seeing as the first task was dragons, no doubt this would be just as dangerous. I sat down and grabbed a green apple. Soon, I saw a dark shadow above me. I turned around to face the person. "Mr. Malfoy follow me." Said McGonagall.

             I walked after her and said "Professor, what's going on? Is Y/L/N okay?" "Yes. She's quite alright Mr. Malfoy. You will be taking part of the task." She responded. "Holy fuck. I did not sign up for this" I thought to myself.

             She led me down to her office and said "Take a seat Mr. Malfoy, I will be back shortly." She left the room. I saw Chang, a little girl, Granger, and Weasley. "Malfoy. Always a pleasure." Sneered Weasley and Granger. I could hear the annoyance in their voices. "Blood traitor, mudblood." I said smirking. I could see Weasley's face getting red, and Granger looking flustered. Just because Princess was my friend didn't mean that that her friends were mine.

             Soon I saw McGonagall come back into the room. We stood up and followed her out. We continued walking until we arrived to the lake. "You five will be put under a spell that will render you unconscious until one of the contestants brings you above water." She said. We all nodded, and she waved her wand, and everything went black. I could still hear everything around me, but that was all I could do. Soon, I could hear singing. Those must be mermaids. I tried to move, but I couldn't. As if I had no control over my limbs.

             Soon, I heard a faint voice yelling. It sounded like the second task was beginning. I heard a splash. The contestants must have begun their search. Hopefully I would be found soon. If felt like hours until I heard a voice yell "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!"

             Before I knew it, I was awake again. We broke the surface of the water, and I regained control of my muscles. "So I was your person. I wonder where they got that dumb idea." I said smiling. She rolled her eyes playfully. We were pulled up by that mudblood and Krum, and ran over to get to our towels. I wouldn't help it, but I felt my eyes slowly move over her body. I snapped out of it and got a towel and wrapped around my waist.

We sat down in the bench and waited as the rest of the contestants came out of the water. "Malfoy, I'm worried about Harry." She said. "Damn it Y/N. Can't go one day without talking about Potter." I thought. "I'm sure he'll be fine." I said dryly. After about 4 minutes, Potter came out with 2 people. "What a show-off." I thought. I watched as Y/L/N and Delacour went over to help them up. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I watched them attentively. I watched Y/L/N crash her lips urgently with Potters. I saw her cup his face and press her small frame up to his.

I don't know why but that hurt. I watched her walk away from him, seductively and slightly swaying her hips. She came back to sit next to me. I couldn't believe her. I got up and rushed away to my dorm.

"I don't understand why that hurt me. She should be able to do whatever she likes with Potter. I guess I'm just being over protective." I thought. But the way I had stormed off like that made me feel guilty. I was worried I might have hurt her feelings, so I went up to the owlery and started to scribble a note down. "Princess, meet me at the quidditch field at 6:30pm tomorrow." I wrote. I rolled it up, tied it neatly with a piece of green string, and tied the note to my barn owl's leg. "Give this to Y/L/N at breakfast tomorrow okay Salazar?" He nodded back at me. I threw him an owl treat and headed back to my dorm and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, I got up, dressed in my robes, and headed down to the great hall for breakfast. I sat down, and grabbed a green apple like usual and went over to the Slytherin table. I saw the owls fly in with packages and letters. I saw a familiar black owl with yellow eyes fly over me and drop a letter. I turned it around and saw the words "From- Lucius Malfoy. To- Draco Malfoy." I suddenly got excited. I never got letters from my father. I ripped open the black seal and pulled out the letter and unfolded it. It read "Mr. Malfoy-" he was always so formal and always so impersonal even with his own son. "-we regret to inform you that you will be staying at Hogwarts for the entirety of winter break."

I sighed and threw the letter away. I looked over to the Gryffindor table and saw
Y/L/N hastily write something on a small piece of paper and fold it up, and release it into the air. I watched as a small paper butterfly fluttered over and landed in front of me. "Okay. Don't be late." She wrote. Today was the last day of school before winter break. Not that it mattered , I would be staying at this wretched school anyway. The classes flew by that day. Ancient runes, a history of magic, transfigurations, charms, herbology. They were all so utterly easy classes. Soon it was 6:25. I decided to make my way down to the middle of the quidditch pitch.

Soon I saw her walking towards me. She was wearing an oversized Gryffindor sweater and leggings. I lit a lantern and met up with her. "What do you want Malfoy. You were so pissed at me for no reason yesterday. I thought you'd be ignoring me." She said. "Can we take a quick walk?" I asked. "Fine." We walked around the quidditch pitch down to the Hogwarts garden. "Y/L/N, I'm really sorry I got mad yesterday. I think just watching you kiss Potter, I- I just don't want him to break your heart like Diggory." I said. She nodded. And hugged me. "Thank you Draco. I love you." She said. She quickly pulled away and her face got red. "You know- I mean like in a sisterly- brotherly way" she added quickly. "I know." I said smiling.

I hugged her again with my chin on top of her head. "So are we good?" I asked. "Yeah. We're good." She said. I felt her gasp and mutter "shit." Under her breath. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I forgot, I was supposed to be meeting Harry at the astronomy tower at 6:30!" I looked at my watch. "Well it's only 6:40. If you run you can still catch him." I said. She started running and yelled "THANK YOU!" I smiled. She could be funny sometimes.
