NOT ACCURATE TO THE BOOKS
YOUR POINT OF VIEWIt was now Saturday, and I was so excited for later today's date, but first I have to sit through a boring interview with Rita Skeeter. She was infamous for exaggerating hugely. I guess that's why people keep hiring her for jobs. We were told to bring just our wand, and to get ready for a picture. I curled my hair, put on some dark red lipstick and lipgloss, gold and red eyeshadow, eyeliner, and falsies as well as a red crop top with a lion on it and a golden skirt to show my house pride. Harry though, looked horrible. His hair was messy, he just wore his plain robes, and he showed no enthusiasm. I picked my wand out of the case that it had came in four years ago, and took some wand polishing oils and cleared off any spots.
On the way down, we met Cedric. "Oh hey Cedric! I'm really excited for later today!" I said smiling. Once I was right next to him, I realized that he was much taller than me. Not as tall as Harry, Ron, or Malfoy, but still very tall. "Yeah! Me too!" He said looking down with a smile. "Cedric. The first task. It's dragons." Harry said. "Dragons?" He asked looking a bit scared. "Yeah." Said Harry. We all walked together down to a classroom for our interview. "Y/N Y/L/N!" I heard Rita yell. "I'm ready for you!" She said. "Wish me luck." I whispered looking back.
I climbed into the large interviewing station, complete with an extravagant quill set, loads of parchment, and much breathing room. Okay. This should be easy. "Okay. First some standard questions." She said. "Full name." She asked "Y/N Y/L/N." I responded. "Blood type." She asked. "I don't know. My mum is pureblood, but I've never met my father, nor do I know his blood." I responded. Rita sucked the end of her quill, and set it upright of the parchment. I could read what the quill was writing easily. "When asked about her blood, the young witch's eyes filled up with tears as she explained the pain of never meeting her father." It wrote.
"I never said that!" I yelled. As I stormed out, I could hear the quill still scratching that paper. "Good luck you four. That woman is mental." I told the rest of them. As Fleur was called, I could see her leaving the station angrily just as I had done. For Harry, Krum, and Cedric, she had led them into a small broom closet. "Hi! I'm Y/N!" I stuck out my hand smiling to Fleur. "Hello! I am Fleur Delacour." She said shaking my hand. Just then, I was called to Ollivander.
"Ah! Ms. Y/L/N!" He said. "13 inches, willow, dragons heartstring, bendy. Great for charms and divination." I stood there in shock. "How do you remember all of that?" I asked. "I never forget a wand that I sell to a witch or a wizard!" He said. "May I take a look?" He asked. I placed my wand gently in his hands. "Ah. You've taken care of it well, but there hasn't been a day when you haven't used it." He said. He was right. Even during the summer, we were permitted to use certain simple spells to keep our magic attuned, like "lumos". "Your wand is full of energy, and the witch who wields it is very capable." He said. I grinned as he handed it back. "Thank you Mr. Ollivander!" I said. Finally, I took my picture, and we were all done with the interview.
I looked at the clock on the wall. It was 11:00. I raced to my dorm to get ready. Since my makeup and hair was already done, I just put on a grey tight off the shoulder sweater dress with some of my favourite high boots, gold hoop earrings, and a black leather choker. I sprayed on some of my perfume, grabbed my purse, and waited in the common room for Cedric. I waited until exactly 12:00. Then I heard a knock of the door.
He was just wearing a mustard coloured sweater and some black dress pants. He looked kind of goofy, because his eye for colour was obviously not the greatest, but he still looked cute. He looked at me and said
"Y/N you look amazing!" He then held out a red rose. I took it and said "why thank you Mr.Diggory." With a little curtsy. We both giggled. "Wait right here." I said as I went up to put the rose on my bedside. I rushed back down, and we then walked to Hogsmead. We ended up going to the Three Broomsticks because it was so cold outside. I ordered a hot apple cider and Cedric ordered a butterbeer. We sat there talking about the tournament, and talking about how we're going to get past the dragon. He seemed impressed at my idea for the fire freezing charm, but his plan to transfigure a rock into a dog was much more impressive. "I can't even do transfigurations!" I said laughing. "Yea? Well maybe you need a tutor." He said smirking. "Maybe I do" I said flirting back. We got our drinks and headed out. We went over to the edge near the shrieking shack, and played in the snow until we were freezing.
We started to walk back to the castle. I was so cold, and soaking from head to toe. Cedric seemed to notice, and lent me his sweatshirt. Underneath he was only wearing a tank top. "Oh Cedric, that's very kind of you, but it's at least a 30 minute back. You'll be freezing." I said. Instead, he put his sweatshirt back on, and wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close to him. I could smell his cologne. It wasn't strong, but it smelled like cedar wood and a warm campfire on a summers night. We finally got back to the castle.
He insisted upon walking me up to my common room. We stopped at the picture entry, and a turned to face him. He moved my hair away from my face, leaned down, and placed a kiss on my lips. After a couple of seconds he pulled back and said "that was my first kiss." Honestly, that was the worst kiss that I had received in a long time. I thought Harry was bad. Well, Cedric was worse. It wasn't graceful, it didn't bring butterflies, and it was a mess. "Oh." I said in response. "Well goodnight Diggory." I said half smiling.
I entered the common room, and saw Hermione reading a book, and Ron trying to follow along. She looked up and said "Y/N! How was your date?" I sighed, and sat down. "Well Cedric was really nice, and a little flirtatious. At the Three Broomsticks, he offered to tutor me, but I don't know what he means by that. We played in the snow, and everything got cold. He tried to give me his sweater but I refused. We got back, and..." I paused. "And?" Said Ron.
"Well I don't usually kiss and tell but he kissed me. It was short and sweet." I said. "How was it?" Asked Hermione. "It was well, horrible. I thought Harry was bad but-" Ron cut me off. "Wait. You and Harry snogged?!?" He stared blankly. "Well yeah, but It was just a one time thing for his birthday." I said looking down. "Did you- you know..." asked Hermione. I just stared at the floor. "Oh Y/N, we're not mad, just if something happens then next time tell us! We must have made it so awkward for you."
"Well what are you going to do about Cedric?" She asked. "I think I'm going to keep things going steady with him, bad kisser or not." I said. I thought back to then. No sparks, no electricity, nothing. I felt nothing there. But the idea of Cedric was a nice one, and I wanted to learn to like him.
