The Chief's POV:
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!"

That was the last thing Cindy said to us before slamming the door to her room once more. Why were things going downhill? We haven't heard anything from the Piggy family, and now Georgie was missing. Sophie sighed."I knew telling Cindy about Georgie going missing was a bad idea..." she said."She should know the truth rather than just the sugar-coated lies," Rose replied while crossing her arms.

Things have really changed around Lucella. Cindy's school closed for some reason, there's been an uneasy feeling around town, and something about these events seemed off. It was as if they were all connected somehow. "What's worse is that we have to work at night today, too..." Rose said, "I think I'm getting closer to finding out where Georgie is." I put a hand on my daughter's shoulder. "You're doing great, kiddo," I said.

"Now, you two finish getting ready. I'm going to check on Cindy," I said before taking my hand off of Rose's shoulder and heading upstairs to Cindy's room. I could hear small sobs coming from the other side of Cindy's door. I tried to open it, but it was locked, so I knocked. Cindy's sobs stopped when she heard me. It was silent for a few moments before I heard shuffling from the other side of the door. Then it slowly opened.

Cindy stood in her room with one hand on the door, while the other was wrapped around Luna. She had her blanket wrapped around her body as if it was a hooded cloak. Her eyes were slightly red and puffy from crying and her cheeks were a light shade of pink. I couldn't blame her for the state she was in. Knowing that her best friend of 12 years was missing must be hard for her. Cindy looked up at me before tilting her head.

"Hey, kiddo," I said as I entered Cindy's room, "Rose, your mom, and I are heading out soon, so I wanted to see if you were okay." Cindy didn't reply as she looked down at the floor. I sighed before sitting down on my knees in front of her. "I know you're worried about Georgie, and I don't blame you," I explained, "But I promise that we'll find him and bring him back safely." Cindy stared at me for a moment before sighing.

"I know you will, Dad, but that doesn't stop me from worrying about Georgie," she replied while wiping tears from her eyes. I smiled before picking her up. "Cheer up, kiddo, we're going to search tonight once your sister finds out where he could be," I replied, "You should go back to sleep. It's still early." I took the blanket off of Cindy's body before carrying her to her bed and putting the blanket over her. Cindy looked like she wanted to tell me something, but she fell asleep before she got the chance to talk.

I chuckled before leaving Cindy's room and walking down to the living room, where Rose and Sophie were waiting for me. "Is Cindy okay?" Sophie asked before I nodded. "She's okay. I just got her to go back to sleep," I replied, "Let's go find Georgie for Cindy's sake." Rose nodded before standing up from her place on the couch and heading outside, with Sophie following her. I took one last glance at Cindy's room before exiting the house.

3 hours later...

"Is anyone there?"

I was currently holding my phone up to my ear. Earlier, I was talking with Rose about Georgie's disappearance when my phone rang, so I went outside to take the call. It was from an unknown number, but I assumed it was someone who needed help so I answered it. It was silent, but something about that silence made my body stop moving. I wasn't sure what it was when a female voice finally spoke.

"Hello, Michael Emerson."

I gasped as my eyes widened. How did she know my name? I knew that humans weren't common here in Lucella, but I never told strangers my name. It felt like time had stopped completely. I had opened my mouth to speak, but the voice cut me off once again. "If you could keep quiet, I will explain everything," the female voice said. I wanted to say something. I wanted to hang up, but my body couldn't move.
