Lucinda's POV:
"Being a po...um..."

"A police officer, dear."

"Yeah! Being a po-po is a big thing!"

I could only giggle and clap my hands at my 6-year-old big sister. I was just a tiny baby, after all. A tiny baby doing big things! Rosie's friends were over doing big kid things outside while I was playing with blocks with Georgie, Zee, and Zuzy. Mommy was watching over us from afar. "Mommy and Daddy said that I'll be a po-po one day!" Rosie added. "Why are you talking to her, Rosie Pose?" Zizzy asked, "She won't talk back to you." Rosie turned to her. "Well, one day she'll start talking, and I wanna make sure she has something to talk about!" Rosie replied.

"We're both gonna be po-pos one day, and it's a lot of work!"

Rosie's expression changed to one of seriousness. "Think about it. Me and Lucy standing back to back as we fight all the bad guys and save the day! We'll be heroes like Mommy and Daddy!" Rosie then grabbed an imaginary steering wheel. "We're gonna drive those flashy cars!" She said before running around in circles, making car noises. "Stop right there, bad guy!" Rosie yelled as she ran towards her friends, who started to run away from her.

I could only stare at my sister in awe as she chased her friends.

____________

"Happy 14th birthday, big sis!"

"Cindy!"

I wrapped my tiny arms around Rose's torso and buried my face in her chest. Rose chuckled before wrapping her arms around my small figure and resting her head on mine. "Thanks, Cindy," she said. We had just gotten back from a restaurant, and we were both full and exhausted. "Did you two have fun?" I heard Mommy ask. "Yeah!" Rose cheered as I nodded vigorously. A few moments later, Daddy came in the room holding a box. "Daddy!" I cheered happily.

"Hey, kiddos!" Daddy replied, "There's just one last gift for you, Rose!" I tilted my head as Rose walked over to Daddy. "Is it a toy?" Rose asked as Daddy chuckled. "It's not a toy, Rosie Pose," He replied. I picked Luna, who was on the floor, up and sat down on the couch as Dad lifted the lid off of the box. Inside was a gun. It looked like the ones Mommy and Daddy had, but it was rose gold instead of black. Rose gasped. "Is...Is this..." she started.

Daddy nodded. "Your Mom and I talked about it, and we think that you've been doing an amazing job handling guns, so we got you your own!" He explained. "Really?! Thank you!" Rose cheered as Mommy walked over to her and Daddy. Mommy took the box from Daddy before he scooped Rose up into his arms. I wanted to smile, but I couldn't. I could only stare at my family with a blank expression as they giggled together. I only felt two emotions.

Jealousy and loneliness.

I loved Rose more than anything and was happy for her, but how could I not be jealous of her? Sure, I was only 8, but I'm just as good as Rose is! At least I thought I was. I clutched Luna tighter as I tried to push the jealous thoughts out of my head. It was Rose's birthday after all. "Look at them, Luna, the three of them seem really happy together," I muttered under my breath. "Why am I such a slow learner? Why do I need help every step of the way?" I asked her, knowing that she wouldn't respond.
