Roselia's POV:
Georgie was definitely not here.Cindy and I had encountered Penny, however, but she didn't say anything when we tried to talk to her. Instead, she tried to attack us with the bat she had in her hand. Currently, I had my back pressed against the wall next to a doorway. Cindy's back was against my chest as I had one arm around her waist. I used my free hand to cover her mouth to prevent her from making any noise. That would alert Penny of our presence. I could feel my heart beating faster as I peeked in the doorway.
Thankfully, Penny was nowhere near the doorway. However, I wasn't about to try and sneak past her. That would not only put my life in danger, but Cindy's as well. The house was still dark, but her glowing red pupil told me exactly where she was. I could see her go down into the basement of the house. Perhaps she was trying to look for someone, but I didn't know who. Soon after that, the lights came on. Mom and Dad must've found a power box or something.
"Come on, Cindy," I muttered as I let go of my sister before taking her hand and quickly running towards the stairs. We had to find Mom and Dad and tell them about Penny. After quietly making our way up two flights of stairs, we found Mom and Dad standing in front of a door that had a red lock on it. "Mom! Dad!" Cindy cried as she ran into Dad's arms while I ran up to Mom, breathing heavily. "Rose? We heard loud noises coming from downstairs...what happened?" Mom asked.
"We found Penny," I explained, "But she wasn't the same...her eyes were black and she tried to attack us." Something green was sticking out of Mom's pocket. "What's that?" I asked. Mom pulled a green key out from her pocket. "Well, your father and I found this green key on the second floor, but we don't know where it goes," Mom explained. I then remembered the green lock Cindy and I found. "Well, Rose and I found a green lock downstairs, but Penny's in the basement. She could hear us!" Cindy replied.
There was a huge gap in the floor, so I went over to it and looked down while Cindy told Mom and Dad what we found. I could see that the front door had been boarded up with prices of wood. There were two panels on both sides of the door along with a white lock. "Um... guys? You need to come look at this," I said as Cindy, Mom, and Dad walked over. "Oh dear," I could hear Mom mutter as Dad sighed, Cindy groaning right after. We must've been out for a long time for someone to do all of that. I put my hands on my hips and shook my head.
"We're gonna be here for a while, aren't we?"
3 minutes later...
"How are we supposed to do this?"I kept my grip on the wooden board as I turned to look at my sister. We had found the red key in the closet that had the green lock. Inside the door with the red lock was a blue key and a wooden board. Mom and Dad took the blue key to unlock a shed outside while Cindy and I stayed back with the board. The last time I saw Penny, she was following Mom and Dad outside. We all knew that Penny was acting aggressive, but not to the point where she'd kill someone.
"I think we're supposed to use this as a bridge to get to the other side," I said. "Will the board be able to support our weight?" Cindy asked in response. "Well, not mine, that's for sure," I responded before getting an idea and turning to my sister. She seemed to catch on and started shaking her head vigorously. "Oh, no, I am not walking across the board," Cindy said, "What if I fall?" I rolled my eyes. "You won't fall, Cindy, you have good balance!" I replied.
Cindy groaned as I put the board in place. "I'll hold the board tight for you," I said, "But the rest is up to you." Cindy crossed her arms. "Fine...I'll do it," She replied, "If I can wear your trench after!" I tilted my head at my sister. "That's...oddly specific, but okay," I replied as I put the board down and held onto it tightly. I could see Cindy's feet step onto the board. She slowly started to walk across the board as if it were a tight rope.
