Lucinda's POV:
I couldn't help but stare at the large walls infront of me."This is where the signal came from," Pony spoke hesitantly from behind me. The fact that it was still night time didn't surprise me. The time of day was the least of my worries, especially when the man I've been hunting down was within these walls. "I guess we're going in then," Zizzy replied. I nodded before speaking. "I guess we are," I said. With that, I walked around the car that was blocking the entrance, Zizzy and Pony following suit.
"Is anyone else getting bad feelings about this?" Pony asked once we were in. I was too busy staring in awe around the military outpost to answer his question. Multiple buildings of gray and orange surrounded me. Street lamps illuminated the area so brightly, I felt like I was about to go blind in the only eye I had left. The grass around me was so green that even Zizzy started drooling. I chose not to question her grass addiction.
My train of thought was interrupted when I felt something grab my foot, hard. I let out an audible gasp, surely alerting Pony and Zizzy, as I looked down at the pavement below me. A sixth pig emerged from the hole that had suddenly appeared in the ground. Half of its face was black, as if it was burnt by something. He wore a military uniform, and his golden yellow eyes started into mine. The world around us stopped for a moment before the soldier yanked on my foot.
I fell down to the ground with a yelp as the soldier began to drag me towards the hole. I was about to pull out my gun and shoot them, but a familiar fencing foil went through its body, causing it to let go of my foot and fall back into the hole. I was confused, but I looked up to see Zizzy standing over the hole, casting her shadow over it. She held her hand out to me as I was breathing heavily. I quickly took her hand, and she helped me up on my feet.
"Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded in response. "Yeah," I said while breathing heavily, "I'm...I'm alright." She let go of my hand. We turned around and looked around, seeing more soldiers emerge from different holes scattered around the outpost. I looked up at Zizzy, who bit her lip in a nervous manner. She let out a sigh before turning to me, her hand gently on my shoulder. "I'll take care of the guards Cindy," she spoke firmly, "Can you handle the locks and keys?"
I nodded vigorously in response. "Of course I can," I replied blankly, "You do what you need to do." Zizzy nodded hesitantly at me before tightening her grip on her fencing foil, turning around and walking away. I sighed before turning to Pony, who was leaning against a wall nearby. "Let me guess," I said, loud enough for him to hear, "Carrot?" Pony looked at me with a slightly shocked expression before nodding hesitantly. "I'm sorry for asking so much of you, Cindy," he said. "It's okay," I replied,
"I needed the exercise, anyway."
Luciana's POV:
I yelled in pain as my fingers dug into my silky hair."Luciana!"
"No, stay away!"
I backed up into a corner, my hands digging into the wall behind me, my feet shaking violently below. The corners of my vision were starting to grow black, and I couldn't see colors very well. Alessandra and Forrester had taken me to where the former brought Lucinda's immediate family. By that point, I had already told then about what he did to me. They assured me that it would be okay, and I had been foolish to agree with them despite knowing the truth.
In a final effort to spare the five from any harm I could potentially do to them, I summoned a glass box around me, one that could only be broken once it knew that I was cleansed. I looked up slowly while keeping my face pressed against the wall. Alessandra had her hands pressed against the glass a few feet away, and her face showed genuine concern for me. It had been decades since I had last seen her like that. I could've sworn I saw tears in her eyes.
