⚠️TW!! Mentions of melatonin and swords and guns!!⚠️
Lucinda's POV:
It had been about 4 weeks since Doggy and I escaped to the forest. 4 weeks since I became an orphan. 4 weeks since everything changed for everyone in Lucella. I wasn't sure how long we would be staying here, but I didn't want to ask questions. I had assumed that it would make me seem annoying and impatient. Doggy and I were talking about the situation, and how it's done nothing but get worse. My worries were practically skyrocketing.
My ankle felt better, though. I was able to walk again, but I did feel a slight pain in it when I did. I also changed my clothes after wearing the same pair for 4 weeks. I obviously kept my late sister's trench, necklace, and gloves. The trench sleeves were rolled up as it was too big for me. The buttons were unbuttoned, revealing the white button up shirt I was wearing. I had a pair of navy blue jeans on, and I wore black boots that went just below my knees on my feet.
I found a brown scarf that was the same length as the trench I was wearing. It warmed me up a bit more. It reminded me of how protagonists would wear then in my favorite movies and shows. Maybe I could be like them someday. My hair had gotten longer throughout the course of these 4 weeks. I either kept it down or in a messy ponytail. I still wore my headband the same way I had always worn it. Tied and up like bunny ears.
"I think those monsters...they were our friends..." I spoke as Doggy turned to me with a serious face. Doggy sighed and ignored my statement. "It's getting late, maybe we should get some rest," he said as he took out a small container from his pocket and opened it. I tilted my head in confusion as he handed me a small purple pill. "It's some melatonin for kids I found at a pharmacy," Doggy explained, "I noticed that you've had some trouble sleeping, saw this and thought of you."
"Oh, thanks..." I replied as I put the pill in my mouth, "I should have a much easier time sleeping now." Doggy nodded. "Just let it sit and dissolve and you should be okay," he explained. I nodded and took note of his words before standing up. "I'm going to try and sleep now, Goodnight Doggy," I said before walking towards the tent. "Goodnight, Cindy," he replied as I climbed in. I took off my boots before getting into my sleeping bag and pulling the covers over me.
The now dissolved melatonin was making me feel sleepy as I hugged Luna close to my figure. I yawned as I saw black spots cover my vision. This time, I welcomed them. I hadn't gotten a decent rest ever since we first came here. I could feel my body slowly start shutting down little by little. I looked at my brown rucksack and all the keychains I had collected over the years. I got comfortable in my sleeping bag and sighed once more.
Then darkness consumed me.
???'s POV:
I sat down on my knees next to the sleeping girl. Lucinda looked so peaceful being curled up into a tiny ball with her head on my lap. Lucinda's mind was a sunny flower field with every flower in existence. We were ontop of a hill, a tree next to us blocking the sun's rays. Birds were chirping away from above us as the wind moved my hair. rose petals were falling around us. The area was very peaceful.
It was a shame that the outside world wasn't this peaceful.
Lucinda's groans snapped be out of my trance. I looked down to see her rubbing her eyes. "Oh? Are you awake?" I asked softly with my head tilted. "Yeah..." Lucinda replied weakly. She sat up before rubbing her head and turning to face me. "Who...who are you?" Lucinda asked, "Where am I?" I smiled. "We're inside your head, young one," I replied to her second question. "Inside...my head?" She asked again as I stood up.
"Come, there's not much time, and we have much to discuss," I said as I held my hand out to the young girl. She hesitantly took it and stood up. I turned around and walked off, hearing Lucinda's footsteps behind me. We walked for a few minutes before reaching. Eventually, we reached an area that had a bench and a pond with Lily pads and small fish. I ushered for Lucinda to sit down. She sat down on the bench as I bent down infront of her.
