Lucinda's POV:
I've always loved going on the train.

Whether it was above ground or under, they were always memorable, to me at least. The way Rose would always sit down with sweat running down her face said otherwise. My mother and father always reassured her that nothing would happen while we were on the train, but she wasn't about to change her mind about it, even after nearly ten years. "The train just moves so fast! Even faster than our police cars! It gives me a headache," she would say.

When I found myself standing infront of a building with a big sign above it that said "Metro," I knew that trains would be involved. "If we can't escape in the air, the next best thing is underground," Bunny had told me after we left the hospital. "I hope you're right about this, Bunny," I said as I looked up at her. Bunny let out a light chuckle before slightly ruffling my hair. "Don't worry, Cindy. Everything will be okay," she replied.

I bit my lip and nodded at her before following her into the metro. The place seemed abandoned. The only sounds I could hear were my own footsteps and the ventilation system. My worries increased as we got deeper and deeper underground. I wondered if people were here when the infection first broke out. I remembered coming here with my family when I was younger, maybe around six or seven. I always enjoyed looking at the scenery outside of the train windows.

What time was it? Before Bunny and I entered the metro, the sky above us was still darker than ever. Hours could've passed, maybe even days, weeks. A shiver went down my spine as we walked. This one was different than the ones before. It was the signal telling me that we weren't alone here, but it was different than the rest. It seemed as though it was telling me that the person who was here...wasn't a human or animal.

It was something else.

I pushed those worries aside when Bunny asked me a question. "So, Cindy, what would you do if you ever got out of here?" She asked with her head tilted. Her expression seemed a bit darker than usual, but she was still smiling. I assumed it was because of Mr.P's betrayal. I looked up at her before speaking. "Well, first I want to find Georgie, if he's even still alive," I started, "Then I want to dig deeper into what's got Lucella in shambles." I also wanted to look into what's got me in shambles.

"Oh...you seem to have your path all set for yourself, buddy! I know that you'll do a great job!" Bunny said happily. My suspicions of her only grew the more she spoke. However, I chose not to question it further as I shrugged my shoulders. Soon, we finally found ourselves next to the rails. The entire area was beige, but it was a lighter shade than my sister's trench. There were a few benches on the sides, and on the rails sat our key to escaping: the train itself.

"We're almost out of here!" Bunny said tiredly. My confusion was over the roof, but I quickly ignored it when Bunny sat down on the floor and pressed her back against the pillar behind her. I started sweating a bit when I heard her heavy breathes and saw her trembling figure. I stayed silent and tilted my head in confusion. She wasn't like this when I first woke up in the hospital. It seemed as though she got increasingly tired overtime.

"Are you okay?" I blurted out. Bunny turned to look up at me while loosening her grip on her crossbow. Bunny bit her lip as she slightly looked down with a blank expression, as if she knew something that I didn't. With a heavy sigh, she turned back to look up at me before pulling her right knee to her chest and resting her arm on it. "Maybe she's just tired from running around a lot..." I told myself, but I couldn't believe it no matter how many times I repeated those words in my head.

"Yeah..I'm okay, Cindy. I just need to rest a little..." Bunny finally replied with a light chuckle. I let out a sigh that I didn't know I was holding. Bunny was tired. I understood her. She went and did all the work unlocking doors while I sat in the cafeteria and dealt with the doctor. I nodded weakly before turning away from her to look around the rest of the platform. There was a creepy aura that covered the area like a thick blanket. It creeped me out more than the tunnels ahead that lead into nothing but darkness.
