Lucinda's POV:
I remembered how surprised I was to find out that there were more humans besides me and my family.

When I had met Mr.P and his wife for the first time, it was when his carnival first opened nearly a decade ago. I had to have been around five or six at the time. I remembered how ecstatic Rose and I were when we encountered the couple a few feet away. Ever since then, my parents grew close to them, talking about whatever adults talked about at that time. The bottom line was that I knew who Mr.P was and he knew who I was.

Now he was standing a few feet away, his back facing Georgie and I.

He must've sensed us come in since he let out a slightly annoyed sigh. "I wish to be alone, but you memories continue to torment me," he said, his voice deep and threatening, enough to send shivers down my spine, "You are just as stubborn as I was when I tried to save my wife." The cure. That was what started all of this. I knew that it was horrible of me to think of it, but would things have been different had we just let Mrs.P die?

"But this time...I will stop you as I should've stopped myself," Mr.P finished. Suddenly, the sound of him loading his robotic arm echoed throughout the plant. Georgie let out a gasp as Mr.P turned around towards us and fired his gun. "Look out!" I cried before running towards Georgie. I pushed him out of the bullet's path, causing him to fall to the ground. I quickly jumped back to avoid the bullet, as well.

"We need to find something to make him snap out of it," I mumbled, "Stay here, Georgie." With that, I dodged another one of Mr.P's bullets before running towards him, gun in hand. Each time he tried to shoot me, I dodged. At that point, it was basically a fight or flight instinct. I rolled, jumped, ducked, and when I finally reached Mr.P, I shoved him out of my way. I had to get him away from Georgie. He was my number one priority now.

Then I saw a bright green stick about to hit my shoulder from the corner of my eye.

I quickly got down on the ground and rolled out of the way before taking not even a split second to look up at my attacker. An anthropomorphic badger stood behind me, holding a tube of acid in his hand. The hand that was holding it had glowing green veins that showed. The sleeve on that arm had been ripped, and the ruby red tie on it was loose. One of his eyes was black with a red pupil, and the other was white with a green pupil.

I bit my lip before mentally groaning. "I should've known that it wouldn't be this easy," I thought to myself as I quickly stood up and dodged another one of the scientist's attacks. Then I realized something. Why were the infected only attacking me? I learned from Elly and Granny that the infected didn't attack each other, and I was technically one of them. They never attacked Zizzy, Pony, or anyone else I allied myself with, either.

With the scientist behind me and Mr.P infront, I didn't have much time to think. I let out a quick sigh before I spun around on my heel. I shoved the scientist out of the way before running towards and down the glowing red hallway. Not long after, I reached what looked to be a lab. There were two tables on either of my sides. One had an orange keycard, and the other had a green keycard and a red key. I bit my lip before bolting to the orange keycard.

I picked it up before turning around and gasping.

The scientist was making a beeline towards me, and Mr.P was a few feet away, ready to fire his gun. "Get away from me!" I cried before I kicked the scientist out of the way and dodged Mr.P's bullet. I mentally thanked my sister in my head as I did cartwheels, handsprings, anything in order to dodge Mr.P's bullets and make them explode into the walls behind me. Once I reached the center, I looked around and spotted an orange hallway.
