⚠️TW!! Slight blood and gore!!⚠️
Lucinda's POV:
I've seen alot of weird things, but a celebrity being in the sewers took the cake.
I kept taking glances at my feet, which were still in sewer water as Bunny and I walked through the door. A few feet away, stood Mr.P, who ran the carnival Rose and I loved to go to. Mr.P was a human. He wore a black hat that had a flower on it, along with a tuxedo with a red tie. On his feet were black dress shoes. He had purple hair, which I found odd, and a black mustache. Overall, it wasn't something you'd find in the sewers of all places.
Mr.P looked shocked to see us alive when he turned around. "Mr.P!" Bunny cheered happily as she ran up to him. I kept walking at my normal pace up to them. Seeing another human made me feel a little better, but I knew that no one would be able to fill in the roles that Rose and my parents had in my life no matter how hard they tried. "Looks like you two made it out," Mr.P replied. Mr.P then turned to me while I had my eyes at my feet, disgusted at the sewer water as I twirled the braided part of my hair around my finger.
"Lucinda?!"
I flinched at the sound of my full name being spoken. My arms immediately went down to my sides as I looked up. No one ever used my full name unless I was in trouble. "Y-Yes?" I asked nervously. Mr.P turned to Bunny. "What is Lucinda doing here by herself? Where is her family?" He asked. Bunny turned to me. A knot formed in my stomach when I realized what her eye was asking me. "Go on..." I said with a nod, "...you can tell him." Bunny nodded hesitantly before turning back to Mr.P and telling him everything. How I witnessed my family die, how I lost my eye and my ability to speak properly.
That was when I started to feel off.
My body stiffened as the pain rushed through my body faster than I could comprehend. I didn't know whether the pain was in my head or my chest, but it was there. My vision and my hearing became blurry. It was even worse than before. I bit my lip to stop a gasp from coming out as my hands went up to my head. My legs felt weak and shook violently underneath me. My breathing quickened as sweat ran down my face, landing in the sewer water below.
"I...I don't feel so good..."
That was the last thing my raspy voice managed to get out before I fell backwards and darkness covered my vision.
"CINDY!"
"Lucinda!"
____________
"Hang in there, Cindy, we're going to help you!"
Bunny's voice got quieter as I sat by the large tree infront of me. I found myself back where I first met Luciana. The only difference was that I was on my own this time. I sat down on my knees as I stared at the leaves above me. The sun came pouring through the little gaps. The sound of birds chirping filled my ears. My hair, trench, and scarf flew in the wind. As peaceful as the environment around me was, I still felt a sharp pain in my head.
"Welcome back, Lucinda. I've been expecting you."
I looked behind me as Luciana's familiar footsteps came towards me. A few feet away from me stood my great-great-grandmother. I bit my lip as the same feeling of jealousy that I once had towards my sister came back. Luciana was a beautiful woman. The white heels on her feet complimented the green grass. Her white floor-length dress and cape flew in the wind, along with her hair. Her white gloved hands clutched her staff tightly. The flower crown on her head had every color in existence.
"I know how you feel about me."
I stiffened at Luciana's words. "And I know how you feel about Roselia," she explained. I looked looked at my knees. "I can't help but feel guilty for being jealous and not talking to Rose about it," I said. Luciana chuckled behind me. "I see that you found one of your friends," she replied. I nodded. "I just hope I won't lose her like I lost Doggy," I replied. Luciana sat down beside me and put a hand on my shoulder. "I can't tell you much, but I will say that she will be a great ally," she spoke.
