Zachariel's P.O.V

Hi guys, I hope that everyone is healthy and safe. Thank you for all the comments. I truly appreciate them. I'll update the next installment on Monday or earlier. What do you guys think will happen when Alexei sees the note? Stay safe guys and until soon.

Zavier was busy setting up tables in the garden by the time I reached the restaurant. He threw an apron at me, then said, "I need you to set up a snack table in the corner of the garden, Zach. The snacks and fruits are in the kitchen. Use your creative side to design something incredible." I wanted to wring Zavier's neck. It would take a perfectionist like me hours to create something alluring. I had forgotten that Zavier's end of the year party was on that same dreadful night. I was exhausted by the time I was pleased with my work. I didn't feel like partying with anyone by then. I decided to go home after having a meal with the staff.

I took a shower and went straight to bed that night. Zavier stayed over at the restaurant. He texted me the next morning to notify me that he wouldn't come home that weekend. Zavier often went on trips with his friends, so I wasn't worried about him. I cleaned the house and spent my weekend researching the Arrakasta company. The data that I had saved on my old phone got destroyed. I had trouble reaching the people that I needed to set my plan in motion. I was trying to hack into the company's database to look for a way to contact people. It wouldn't be long before I cracked the code. I was the one who had designed the security system. I went through several books and sites to gather the data that I needed. After many failed attempts and sleepless nights, I finally managed to create something worthy of praise. I had built in a feature to track down the people who tried to peer into the company. It would be troublesome if I got discovered. That is why I carefully planned my moves.

The weekend flew by before I knew it. The first thing that I noticed when I arrived at work on Monday was all the IT personnel. They were busy upgrading computer hardware. The green sticker on my PC indicated that they had already updated my computer. I was just about to start working when my eyes fell on the supervisor of the group. I had recognized the man, but I wasn't sure if he would remember me. After all, it had been many years since I had last seen Paul Remington. I decided to ignore my former roommate and started reviewing the upgrades. Briac arrived after me. He groaned when he saw the IT personnel. "I can't believe that I have to get used to another system again. It took me a long time to figure out things the last time they upgraded the computers," uttered Briac in frustration. I smiled at Briac, then said to console him, "Don't worry, Briac. I got your back. I have already figured out some things."

Briac patted my back, then said while walking to his desk, "I'll be counting on you then, Zach." I chuckled when I heard Briac groan in annoyance. He was probably surprised by the changes. He would jump with joy if he perceived how handy the new system was. We could get sales information from years back at the click of a button. I shook my head, then concentrated on my work. James had this time mailed a project to me. I would have to visit a few shops personally to gather the data that I needed. I instantly started sending requests to the stores. I got startled when I heard James suddenly yell, "Can't you watch where you are going?"

I frowned when I saw that James had bumped into Paul after getting coffee at the hot water, tea, and coffee station. James kept yelling at Paul while wiping his suit clean. Anyone could see that it was James's fault. He should have paid attention to where he was going. Paul quietly gazed at James. He probably enjoyed watching James fret. I couldn't just look on when I heard James ask Paul, "Why are you just standing there? Don't you know how to apologize?" Briac got alarmed when he saw me walking towards James in anger. He quickly followed me to make sure that I didn't do anything foolish. I stood before James, then said, "I'm sorry for meddling in your affairs, sir, but I can't just sit back and watch you yell at an innocent man. This man saw you coming and moved out of your way, but you still managed to bump into him. It seems like you were too busy looking through your phone to notice him."
