Leonardo's P.O.V

I hadn't had a decent conversation with Cash since the last time I saw him. I didn't want to come off as clingy, so I didn't bother him. I ultimately became aware of why Cash had set such a strict condition. It seemed like Cash was never free. I was longing to see the object of my affection but couldn't. Anyone would have given up by now, but I loved Cash too much to do so. I was on my way back to the hospital after attending a seminar when I spotted Cash. He was busy checking the motor of Alexei's car in a nearby ad agency's parking lot. A lot of women stopped to gaze at his well-toned body.

I sighed while looking at Cash. He looked gorgeous in his dark green dress shirt. Cash was too busy to notice that he was attracting too much attention. I wanted to address Cash, but I knew that he wouldn't appreciate it. I was just about to leave when a street vendor bumped into a lady. I almost crashed into the lady when she stopped walking. The lady instantly started cursing the street vendor. Everyone stopped to observe the two. Cash lifted his head to see why the woman was out for blood. He frowned when he recognized me. He closed the hood of the car, then wiped his hands clean. I composed myself when I saw Cash walking towards me. The woman thought that Cash was concerned about her. She quickly fixed her hair and straightened her suit jacket. The woman huffed when Cash casually walked past her. I chuckled, seeing the woman's reaction.

Cash put his hands in his pockets when he reached me. He stared intensely at me, then smiled. My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I heard Cash say, "It's nice to see you, Leonardo." I counted till ten to get my emotions under control, then responded to Cash with, "It's nice to see you too, Cash." Cash looked at my office bag, then asked me, "Why are you on foot, Leonardo?" I chuckled while looking at my heavy briefcase. I sighed then answered Cash with, "Do you remember the seminar I told you about last Sunday, Cash? It was today. The venue of the seminar was not far from my hospital. So I decided to walk there. I hadn't exercised in a long time and thought that this would be the right time to catch up. I regretted my decision to walk when my colleagues started bombarding me with their hospital's colorful booklets."

Cash nodded, then uttered, "I see that your father hired another company to protect you guys, Leonardo." I gazed at the two men that were observing us, then responded to Cash with, "Yeah, they are ex-marines. My father tried to hire Triton, but he said that he had his hands full at the moment." Cash looked at his watch, then uttered, "I better go. Alexei will be done with his meeting soon." I smiled, then said to Cash, "See you soon, Cash." Cash smirked, then responded to me with, "I'll call you later, Leonardo." Cash quickly answered his phone when it rang. He winked at me, then said to Alexei, "I'm on my way, Alexei." My heart shattered when Cash stepped into the car without looking back. I sighed while watching him drive away.

I pondered about my unhealthy relationship with Cash while walking to the hospital. I received a notification regarding a bus accident with multiple patients the moment I arrived at work. I buried myself in my work and tried not to think about Cash. I was exhausted by the time I reached home. Everyone was already asleep, so I went straight to my room. I took a shower, then climbed into my bed. I was just about to turn off the lights when my phone rang. I answered my phone without looking at the caller id. My eyes widened in surprise when I heard Cash say, "Sorry to disturb you so late, Leonardo. I had a busy day and just arrived home. I wanted to ask you something before you went to bed."

I took a deep breath, then responded to Cash with, "It's okay, Cash. I came home late too. So what would you like to ask me?" Cash went silent for a moment. I could sense that he was having a drink. I chuckled when I heard Cash say, "Sorry about that, Leonardo. My throat was dry." I smiled, then uttered, "Come on, Cash. How long will you keep me in suspense?" Cash laughed, then answered me with, "Alexei gave me a day off. We could spend some time together tomorrow if you're free. We don't have to go out. We can have a quiet dinner at my house if you want."
