Zachariel's P.O.V

One year later.

Alexei and I decided to go to the Maldives for our honeymoon. I can still remember how much fun we had together. We received some good news after we returned. Briac and Chance's family had grown bigger. The men had welcomed their daughter Bridgette to the world in our absence. We waited for a few days before visiting the happy couple. The kids were excited to meet the baby. I was surprised when Jacques asked Alexei when we were planning to have another child. Jacques was eager to meet his little brother or sister. Alexei and I decided to start the process for another child when things started going smoothly at my new company.

It took us time to find the right surrogate mother to carry our child. I tried not to think about the baby after the process was over. We had hired an expert to keep an eye on the surrogate mother's health. My family prayed every day for the safety of the surrogate mother and the baby. We were overjoyed when the gynecologist called us to say that we were expecting twins. The kids started coming up with names when they heard that they were gaining a little brother and sister. Cora, Kaylee, and Olivia surprised us by decorating the twins' room. The room even had swing chairs for the kids. Alexei and I decided to give the women the money that they had spent on the bedroom back. The women refused to take the money. My heart melted when Cora told me that all my friends had pitched in to decorate the room. She told me that they had been waiting to do something for me in return.

Alexei didn't seem to mind that my friends had taken the initiative to decorate the room, so I left things how they were. We were busy celebrating our first wedding anniversary when the expert called us to say that the surrogate mother was in labor. The twins were supposed to be born a few days later, so we got worried. We rushed to the hospital to see how the surrogate mother was doing. Alexei and I paced back and forth in a hidden room while the surrogate mother did her utmost best to deliver our babies. We sighed in relief when we heard the gynecologist say, "Congratulations, gentlemen. You are the fathers of two healthy babies."

I cried when I saw our children's faces. A nurse took us to a hospital room, then asked us to remove our shirts. She placed the babies close to my chest and let me bond with them. Alexei got emotional when it was his turn. I threw my arm around Alexei's shoulder, then placed a kiss on his temple. Alexei smiled, then asked me, "So what will their names be, Zachariel?" I stroked our youngest son's head, then answered Alexei with, "The boys have decided to name their little brother, Etienne. The boys got excited when they heard that the name meant "Man with a crown. They promised to treat their little brother like a prince."

Alexei kissed Etienne's head, then said, "Welcome to the world, Etienne Marquis." I chuckled when Alexei kept staring at our youngest daughter. I kissed Alexei's cheek, then asked him, "Is everything alright, Alexei?" Alexei sighed, then responded to me with, "It's insane how much she looks like your mother, Zachariel. I hope that she doesn't take after her. I haven't forgotten how cheeky your mother is." I laughed, then said to Alexei, "My mother is not a brute, Alexei. Genevieve has thought of a fitting name for her little sister. She hopes that her little sister will hold the family together with a name like Angélique." Alexei looked in shock at me. I kissed him softly, then stated, "It seems like Kaylee and Vittoria helped the kids come up with names for the babies, Alexei. It was very thoughtful of them, so I decided to use it."
