Alexei's P.O.V

I crouched down in front of Nathaniel, then said to him, "We may look like each other, Nathaniel, but I'm not your dad. My brother Briac is your biological father. I know my brother and his other half well. They will love you and cherish you for all eternity." Nathaniel gazed behind me while clutching his plush bunny close to his chest. I grabbed Nathaniel's hand, then led him to Briac and the others. Amelia put a hand on Briac's shoulder to calm him down when he started crying. Nathaniel listened intently to me while I introduced everyone to him. He greeted everyone graciously.

My father picked up Nathaniel, then uttered while stroking his back, "Welcome to the family, my dear grandchild." Nathaniel giggled when my father handed him over to Briac. Chance and Briac stepped into another room to get acquainted with the child. I got startled when Gabrielle grabbed my hand. She frowned, then asked me, "Did you truly get engaged, Alexei, or is this just a tactic to scare me away?" I scowled, then said to Gabrielle in a threatening tone, "You better back off before you lose your hand, Gabrielle." Gabrielle looked in shock at me. She slowly let my hand go, then uttered, "You have changed so much in a short time, Alexei. I can't believe that you are even willing to hurt a woman now." Gabrielle was getting on my nerves. I scowled at Gabrielle when she kept staring at me. She seemed unfazed, so I said to her, "Don't make this about yourself, Gabrielle. We are here for the child and not you."

Eric Cambell and his wife Lisa trembled with fear when I walked past them. I took a seat on the one-seat sofa, then uttered, "My brother is busy with his child at the moment. My father will be handling this matter in his stead for the time being." I chuckled when I heard Gabrielle say, "No one is taking my child away from me, Alexei." My father ignored Gabrielle. He was probably tired of her antics. He walked over to Eric Cambell, his wife, and his kids to introduce himself. My father smiled at Liam and Layla, then stated, "A maid is waiting for you guys in the kitchen. She will make sure that you guys don't feel bored. Your parents will call you guys when our conversation is over."

Liam grabbed his sister's hand, then responded to my father with, "Thank you for the hospitality, sir." My father gazed at Liam and Layla while they walked in the direction of the kitchen. He took a seat on the sofa, then uttered, "You raised your kids well, Eric." Eric nodded, then declared, "My wife is in charge of raising the kids, sir. All credit goes to her." Amelia smiled at Lisa, then uttered, "I can see why Gabrielle chose you guys as the guardians of her child, Lisa." Gabrielle huffed, then stated, "I was a fool to trust them. I would have never given them my child if I knew how deceitful they were." My father sighed, then said, "Take a seat, everyone. My family and I wish to handle this matter today. We have already missed many years of the child's life, and don't plan to waste any more time."

Eric grabbed his wife's hand after taking a seat on the sofa. His wife had been crying this whole time. Eric put his head down, then uttered, "I admit that I got greedy at the end, Gabrielle, but Lisa and I have raised Nathaniel like our own child. We want what's best for him." Lisa wiped her tears away, then stated, "Nathaniel has been asking about his father for a while now. We wanted to give him a loving home, but it seems like he desires to be with his own family." Gabrielle glared at Eric and Lisa. She threw a pillow at the couple, then yelled, "Who are you two to decide what's best for my child? You better start saying your prayers because you're all going to jail after this whole ordeal is over."

My father scowled at Gabrielle, then asked her, "Why did you ask someone else to look after Nathaniel if you care so much about him, Gabrielle?" Gabrielle sighed, then responded to my father with, "I gave Nathaniel away because of the way he looked. Nathaniel attracted too much attention with his appearance. People kept asking me wherever I went with him when Alexei would ask me to marry him. I got tired of telling people that the child wasn't Alexei's. It was the painful truth that I wasn't ready to accept. My uncle took care of me when I was a child. I thought that he would be the best candidate to raise Nathaniel, but I was wrong."
