"Hurry up." A deep, gruff voice mutters as I stand in front of the bathroom mirror. Trying to get ready for the morning, I peer down my toiletry bag and ruminate over which one out of my four lipsticks I'll use for today.

"Minako."

I close my eyes trying to rein in my agitation at the man hovering behind me. Why is he trying to speed things along? My smartwatch says it's still six in the morning. It's still an hour early from the time we're supposed to meet Orochimaru.

Geez. This man is so annoying.

But I shouldn't snap at Sasuke. No. It won't do both of us any good if we argue now even if I want to give this man a piece of my mind. Inside, I'm fighting with every inch of me not to shut the door on this poncho-wearing tyrant -- especially now that I'm able to.

Surprisingly enough, the threshold changed when we woke up. From one meter, it became four. Four glorious meters of comfort made it possible for us to bathe alone without being so near to each other. There are no words that can express my relief over that. Sasuke and I agreed that our talk last night helped in some way to widen the threshold for some reason.

"Minako."

"The more you talk and pester me, the longer I take," I warn him and sigh deeply. "You wanna talk some more?"

"We have four meters as the threshold now, do you want to go back to one?" Sasuke answers my question with another question, his jaw tightens.

"Give me ten minutes," I tell him, trying to seek out a compromise. The last thing I want is to go back to the way things were.

"Five," Sasuke grumbles, clearly annoyed. He rubs his palm on his face and shakes his head as he walks away. "We're going to be late. You don't need all that."
