• To celebrate being featured in Wattpad's StoriesUndiscovered profile for the whole month of July 2021, this chapter will contain special graphics at the end of 22F. The summer-inspired graphic is a graphic of Sasuke and Minako at the beach.

• I'm sure you guys have noticed that the chapters I'm posting are getting longer. This one is about 4.7k words. It's because I'm trying to make sure all the chapters of Soulbound: Part One will fit into one book and adhere to the 200 chapter limit that Wattpad has. I hope you guys understand. After I finish Part One, I'll edit the chapters into more readable portions if there is some space left.

• Usually, I just find a song to fit the chapter's mood. But this time, it's the other way around. This chapter was inspired by Ella Mai's song: Naked.

Sasuke and I got out of the basement office as soon as Tomo and the Fire Daimyo left. Just as easily as we came in, we slipped out of the mansion and came back to the inn then promptly delivered Chijo to his apartment.

Unlike before, Sasuke didn't make much of a fuss about how we should treat Chijo. He did what I told him to do when we got to Chijo's bedroom. He dropped the lanky man on the bed and stripped him up to his boxers while I wrote a break-up note for Chijo to read once he wakes up. Sasuke did it without any qualms or comments. And, that was the exact moment when I knew that there was something wrong.

After being around Sasuke for a while now, I know that he's never one to hold back on how he thinks we should do things. He's bossy. He always thinks he's right. We always end up debating, bickering, and arguing even about the smallest things. So this, Sasuke being so compliant, is way out of character for a man like him.

Truth be told, he hasn't been himself ever since Captain Yamato talked to him at the diner. But now, he's more withdrawn -- retreating into himself a little bit more. Every conversation ends with a hn. When I do get a sentence or two out of him, he barely cares to even give a coherent response. It's obvious that his mind is somewhere else.
