It has been three days since I left Kumogakure and gotten a decent night's slumber. Last night was no different. Despite the fact that Sasuke slept outside the cave, I couldn't get a wink of sleep. I just didn't feel safe to let my guard down. So I did what any woman suffering from paranoia and trust issues would do, I just laid on my mat, stared at the sky -- Kitkat syringe in hand, just in case -- and waited for the sun to rise.

Sasuke hasn't given me a reason to distrust him. He's taken care of me and Naga throughout our journey together. But knowing his real identity is reason enough for me to always feel wary of him.

From my experiences on my missions for KISU, I've found that even evil people are capable of doing good things from time to time. They are still human after all. And so is Sasuke.

Even if Sasuke's been pardoned; even if he's done nothing but help and protect other people since then, it doesn't change that the fact that he wreaked havoc on my village and endangered my family. That's something I must always keep in mind no matter what he does from here on out.

I really have no time to think about that anymore. I have a goal in mind. Getting to Hot Springs District and finding Aki Shinro. In order to do that, I need to keep my wits about me. I've been able to do just that when I started my mission.

But unfortunately, I don't think I am thinking clearly anymore. The fact that I haven't slept properly for days had finally taken its toll.

It started innocently enough. I got up from my palm mat that morning and the ground felt wobbly underneath my feet. There was a sharp prickling sensation on the temples of my head and my eyeballs were throbbing painfully.

Walking through the forest trail with Sasuke and Naga, I could feel my vision go dark and then come back again. It happened several times that I found myself grasping at Naga's shoulder for support. Still, I brushed it aside and decided to soldier on.

I believed that I could surpass the needs of my body through sheer strength of will. And I was such a complete fool even think it!

At some point, my body finally gave out from exhaustion and I felt myself fade away against my volition.
