Sasuke refuses immediately after he hears me out. Irritation seeps from his sharp tone. Narrowing his dark eyes at me, he bites his lower lip and seethes.
"Just do this for me, please," I beg but Sasuke says nothing. Instead, he looks away. "Look, I even bought a light gray suit, a tie, and dress shoes for you, so all you have to do is show up."
Right now, I'm sitting beside Sasuke, on one of the chairs, by the dining table. After carefully placing my shopping bags on another chair, I wait for him to respond. But Sasuke looks away, seeming intent to just ignore me. He heaves a heavy sigh. Deep lines form on his forehead as he takes a black earthen pot and pours green tea into a small cup.
Drumming my fingers on the smooth surface of the wooden table, I frown and cross my legs. I can't say I didn't expect this. Knowing Sasuke, I know he'd be reluctant to go out with someone. He doesn't seem to be the type to date at all. It's not in his personality to crave such things. I know that. But if he agrees to it, then it will make things so much easier for me. He can steal Yayoi's card pass then keep her from going to the security room while we check the surveillance footage for Riki Maeda. Then when we're done, Sasuke can slip it back into her purse and no one will even find out that it was missing.
