It's easy to forget. It won't be such a difficult task. All I have to do is to remember what Sasuke said. He was drunk. He wasn't in total control of himself. That's all I need to know.

So, that gentle way he kissed me and held me as if I was someone he treasured, those things he told me... they're not real and were merely an aftereffect of his drinking. I'm the only one who thought last night meant anything at all.

Hmph.

I don't know how it's come to this. I don't know how it happened and when I began feeling this way. But against my better judgment and despite every logical reason not to, I started to like him. Sasuke just went past my defenses. He crept under my skin. I began to understand him, grew to care for him, and I... I'm the only one who feels this way. It's all one-sided. So, I have to deal with this problem myself and exorcize these hopeless emotions out of me -- because it will only be a hindrance in the long run.

It's for the best, really. It is. I know that.

It's a good thing that he was just itching to get away from me and barely excused himself to leave after we had that awkward conversation. I'm glad that he left me alone at this table to wait -- like some social pariah - until my best friends and Captain Chiasa returned.
