A new beginning [Levi x reader]

Chapter 29

I was currently sitting at the dinner table with Grace and Ryan. They were a young couple considering Grace was only like ten or eleven years older than me. They didn't have any kids and their neighbors were an old married couple. The winter vacation is going to be ending in about three days and that means I have to go to school. I'm gonna be the new kid again. All that effort I put in to make friends at my old school and now I have to do it again. Actually I can make this easier by not putting any effort and staying by myself, not that I would want any other friends. Levi and I texted everyday and kept in touch as much as possible.

"What are you thinking about Y/n?" Grace asked.

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her.

"Nothing." I rolled my eyes and continued eating.

"Well Ryan and I thought that we could go to the festival since it's not far from here." She added.

"I think I'll skip." I was never in the mood to go anywhere with these two. They asked me a few times if I wanted to tag along with them whenever they went out but I never accepted. Not that they were bad people, they're just not the same as Grisha and Carla.

"But you always skip. Come on, come with us, you gotta get out of this house or you'll go insane." Ryan tried convincing me.

"Tch...still not going." I forgot to mention that I picked up the 'tch' from Levi because I spent so much time with him.

"You're a teenager Y/n, you need to go and have fun or you're probably regret it later in life." There he was again, talking about life and trying to give me advice. Maybe if the circumstances were different I would appreciate it but for now I just find it kind of annoying.

"Y/n...you've been here for one week, you need to cheer up a bit." Grace gave one of her sympathetic smiles, this was a smile I saw way too often.

"Well maybe I like being sad." I shrugged, honestly would they just give up already. I don't wanna cheer up and that's it.

"Okay Y/n, we're getting frustrated, so you're going out with us no matter what you say. You need to get out of this house." Ryan said as he sat up from the table and put his dishes in the sink.

'They're the ones getting frustrated?! Well than imagine how I feel being forced to go out with people I barely know.' Why do I have to keep this to myself, maybe if I told them what I truly think they'll leave me alone.

"You're not the only ones getting frustrated here." I told them.

They both turned to look at me with wide eyes. Guess they're not used to a teenager talking back to them, well they don't have kids so what did I expect.

"Y/n, please don't talk back to us and just do as we say ok?" Grace said.

'Oh so they're that kind of people.' Whatever I don't wanna deal with them anymore so I guess I'll just go.

"Whatever." I went to my room and closed the door. I picked up my phone and laid on the bed looking through my messages. I clicked on Levi's name and started reading them.

Hey brat, what are you doing?

I just ate and they're making me go to a festival.

Are they really that bad or are you just being dramatic?

I don't know. I don't even know if they'll allow me to, I swear they're unpredictable.

With that I closed my phone, put it in my pocket and went to the living room to see if Grace and Ryan were ready to go.

"Ready to go Y/n?" Grace gave me a smile, like everything was all right.

"Yes." I said drily.

I was sitting in the car, Ryan was driving and Grace was blabbering on about something, I didn't care enough to concentrate. But then she turned to look at me from the passenger seat.

"So what do you say Y/n, are you up for it?" She asked.

"Tch, whatever." I have no idea what I had agreed to but I really didn't care.

I could see Grace's face in the mirror and let me say that the devilish grin she had on her lips was terrifying. Now I actually cared a bit.

'What exactly have I agreed to?'
