A new beginning [Levi x reader]

Chapter 12

"Eren how could you spill juice on my book?!!!" I've been in Japan for nearly a month now and I haven't seen Armin so mad. Eren spilled his juice on Armin's book and now Armin is scolding him. "I'm sorry! I'll buy you a new one." I could see Eren felt bad but he's not good at apologizing. "No it's ok, i'll just let it dry and maybe the pages won't be wrinkly." Armin said forgiving Eren.

After the argument was settled we went back to eating our lunch and discussing different topics. When the bell rang I got up and started heading to class. Once I arrived in the classroom I sat in the back near Levi as usual. To my right sat Jean. He was just looking at me, making me uncomfortable but thankfully he spoke. "Hey Y/n, you're still going to the cafe with me today after school right?" I suddenly remembered that I said I would go with Jean to the cafe. I didn't really want to anymore, but if I rejected him, I would hurt his feelings. "Yeah, sure." I gave him a thumbs up and turned my attention to the teacher.

After the lesson was done, Levi, Hange and I were walking down the hall, on the way to our lockers. "Hey Y/n, would you want to go to shorty's house and watch a movie?!" Hange asked me. "Shitty glasses, I didn't invite you to my house to watch a movie." Levi replied to her before I could. I chuckled at his response. "I'd love to Hange, but Jean invited me to go to the cafe with him. I said while attempting to open my locker. "Ohhh...too bad!" Hange pouted and put on her shoes. "But Y/n, you need to do math with me today." I turned my attention to Levi and thought about what his said. And of course his statement was right. "I'm sorry, but can we put it off for today, I promised Jean I'll go with him." Levi clicked his tongue at me. "Fine, but I'll go with you two to the cafe." I was confused. Why does Levi want to go to the cafe with me and Jean. "But he didn't invite you, did he?" Levi rolled his eyes waiting for me to open my locker and go home. "I'll sit at the table behind you." I nodded and tried to open my locker one more time. "Ughhhh, this locker is stuck!" I gave up trying to open it. I was already annoyed, cause I just wanted to go home and get ready. Just as I was thinking to leave without my shoes, Levi kicked it and it opened like it wasn't stuck in the first place. "Thanks." I said putting my shoes on and going towards the exit.

"So at what cafe are you and Jean going?" I was walking down the sidewalk with Levi, since Mikasa, Armin and Eren left already. "The one near the train station." He nodded and continued to walk. The silence was getting awkward so I thought of something to say. "Hey Levi, do you wanna hear my horrible puns?" I faced him waiting for a response. He pinched the bridge of his nose but made a sign with his hand for me to go ahead. "Ok! So...what do you say to a llama that loves picnicking?" He looked at me before he decided to speak. "I don't know. What?" A smile creeped up on my face. "Alpaca lunch." I started laughing at my own joke. Levi looked at me questionable but smirked. "I got another one. Ready?" "Sure, brat." I giggled before I started speaking. "The past, the present and the future all walk into a bar. It was tense." Levi sighed looking at the ground. "That's a horrible joke." He stated. I punched his arm playfully and continued walking. "I know."

When I arrived home I left my shoes at the entrance and headed to my room. "Hey, Mikasa." I greeted her once I opened the door and left my backpack near the table. "Hi, Y/n." She greeted back. I got a towel and some clean clothes and went to shower. Once I was done I went back to my room to grab my wallet and my phone. "Y/n, are you going somewhere?" Mikasa asked. "Oh yeah. I'm going to the cafe with Jean and Levi." Mikasa nodded and looked back at her phone. "Can you tell Eren to come here please. I said I'll help him with homework." "Sure, mikasa." I went to Eren's room and knocked on the door. "Come in." I herd him say. I gently pushed the door open and looked at Eren. He was just sitting on the bed staring at the ceiling. "Uhh, what are you doing?" I asked confused. Normally he would listen to music or watch something on the TV but now he was doing absolutely nothing. "Thinking about how I'm gonna fail the biology test." "Yeah, speaking about that, Mikasa said that she's gonna help you with homework so go to her room." After I told Eren what I needed to I went downstairs. Carla was home so I informed her that I'm going out for a bit.

I entered the cafe and was looking for Jean. It didn't take me long to spot him. He was sitting at a table in the corner. I made my way towards him. "Oh Hi!" He greeted me going in for a hug. I hugged back, but it was kinda awkward hugging him. I mean, I didn't know him very well so this was a chance to get to know him better. I sat across from him and the waiter came to take our order. "What can I get for you two?" I looked at the menu for a bit and ordered. "I would like (preferred drink) please." The waiter wrote down my order and looked at Jean. "I'll get a vanilla milkshake." After we ordered it was silent. We didn't know what to say. I looked around the cafe and noticed the door opening. A boy with raven hair entered the cafe, he sat at the table in front of us. As expected Levi came to the cafe. "So Y/n, why'd you choose to come here." Jean finally broke the silence. "Um, I really like the culture." I replied taking a sip of my (preferred drink). "Ohh interesting." After that we went silent again. I thought of something to say but I noticed Levi starring at me. I started blushing and of course Jean noticed. "Are you ok? You're like really red." I put my face in hands and calmed down. "Y-yeah, don't worry I'm fine."

Jean and I eventually started having a normal conversation and we were getting closer. We asked for the bill and a different waitress brought it to us. I didn't mind...until I looked closer and noticed it was Petra. I sighed and took out my wallet. "Y/n it's ok. I'm gonna pay." I hesitantly nod and put the wallet back in my pocket. When Petra came back for the bill she was carrying a tray with a glass of coffee. And unsurprisingly she tripped and spilled it on me. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" I sighed and thought to myself. "Of course, something needed to happen."
