I laid in bed with Corey, my head against his chest. It was my day off and I couldn't wait. Days off were the best because it meant I got to spend the whole day with my family, and I got to put Elliott to bed at night and that was the best part, because I didn't get that any other day of the week. Elliott woke up and started to cry at 7:30, as always, and Corey went to go get him. I sat up in bed and Corey came and stood beside me as he lowered our son into my arms. "Hey munchkin. You slept really well tonight. Only woke up once. I'm proud of you. And you know what made it even better? When you woke up daddy went to calm you down meaning I didn't have to get out of bed. It was lovely." Corey chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"I'm going to let Theo out into the garden and give him his breakfast. I'll bring up breakfast for you afterwards along with your morning Coffee."
"Thanks babe. You're the best." I smiled as he walked out the door. "Your daddy is the greatest, I love him so much and you're the luckiest to have him as your daddy. Because he loves you so much too." Elliott just cuddled into me and then started grabbing at me so I fed him. He drank happily and after I burped him. I then got up to change him and get him dressed for the day before getting back into bed to cuddle with my 5 month old. Soon enough Corey came upstairs with breakfast, coffee and Theo. He put the stuff on each of our beside tables and climbed back into bed with us. I rested Elliott against me and held him with one arm. I used my other to have my coffee. "So delicious, thanks Cor."
"No problem Katie. Gotta treat you right. You're a busy working mom, and I want you to be able to enjoy your days off."
"While you were gone I was telling Elliott about how lucky is he to have you as his dad. But I'm also the lucky one to have you as my man. I love you Corey. You're the greatest."
"And you're the sweetest. I love you too my Angel." He kissed my temple and I had another gulp of my coffee before laying Elliott down on his tummy on the bed between Corey and I so we could eat breakfast. Once done we all got ready for the day and went downstairs. Elliott began playing with some toys and I sat watching him with a smile on my face. Corey was doing some work before his usual piano practice. I picked up Elliott and went over to the piano with Corey so we could watch him. Elliott just sat in my arms gazing at his father. He was so fascinated by the piano and it was a joy to watch his face as he watched Corey. Once Corey had run though all this pieces I smiled.
"I'm so proud of you Cor. So endlessly proud of how far you've come from not playing at all to being able to do things like that. It's incredible."
"Thanks Katie. I couldn't have done it without you. You're the best teacher in the world. And I know Elliott will love playing too, I definitely want him to grow up learning how to play."
"Me too." I sat beside him and took Elliotts hand and had him press a few keys. Elliott let out a giggle and I just smiled and rested my head on Corey's shoulder.
"Hey, why don't we head out for lunch today then maybe go to the park. Have a nice date with our little boy."
"That's sounds wonderful Cor. Let's do it." We spent the morning playing with Elliott before his first nap of the day at 10am. While he slept Corey ran though lines and I worked on some family things, I then went for a run and took a shower, getting out and dressed just in time for Elliott to wake up from his nap. I fed him as usual and he needed to be changed, so I changed him before taking him downstairs. I picked up a toy and sat with Elliott in my lap as he playing with the toy in my hand. He giggled lots as usual reaching and hitting the toy. "You're so perfect Elliott. My little playful monkey." I stroked his hair and Corey came and joined us. I let Corey play with him and seeing the interaction between them melted my heart.
"Isn't he just perfect." Corey smiled.
"He really is. And he's our son. We made him, how magical is that."
"Well you grew him inside you for 9 months. I just started it off." I rolled my eyes and smiled at him.
"I love you Cor. And I love our son. I love you both so much. Being his mom, is truly the best thing in the world. It's crazy to think that almost 5 years ago we met for the first time and fell in love and now we're here, married for a year and a half, with our perfect little boy."
"It's crazy. But I couldn't imagine it any other way." I smiled widely and cuddled up to Corey.

As planned we headed out for lunch together, with Elliott of course. We went to our usual favourite place in midtown near our old apartment and sat down. I put Elliott in a high chair and he sat happily playing with a toy. He'd started having a few solids so after ordering lunch I fed him his lunch of apple and peach sauce which was one of his favourites. Soon our lunch came and Elliott entertained himself with a toy as Corey and I ate and talked. "You having fun there Elliott?" I said after he'd made an excessively loud giggle. He just giggled again and kept playing. After I finished I picked him up and set him in my lap, across my chest. "It's nap time buddy." I whisper sang a lullaby and rubbed his back which caused him to fall asleep. "I love you Elliott." I whispered as I looked down as my sleeping son. I noticed Corey getting his phone out and taking pictures but I just ignored him and cuddled with my son.
"You look beautiful Katie. Watching you watching him as he sleeps is so wonderful. You just look so peaceful as does Elliott."
"Letting him sleep against me relaxes me. Knowing he feels safe enough to fall asleep on my chest makes me happy. I love him so much and I'd do absolutely anything for him." I smiled and kissed the top of his head before resting a hand on the back of his little head, feeling his soft hair on my fingers. "I love you baby boy."

After we finished lunch we went home. I tried my best to keep Elliott asleep but as expected the subway woke him up. He cried a little until he looked up and saw Corey and I, calming down after. "Shhh. It's okay little one. Daddy and I are right here." After he calmed a little and I gave him to Corey and let him cuddle with his father. Once home we just enjoy the time as a family, cuddling and playing together.

Cuddles with Elliott are the best cuddles. I love my little boy so much and being his mom is a dream come true. He's the sweetest little guy in the world and he's so precious. My favourite thing is when he fall asleep as he's laying against me. It's the most magical feeling protecting my son like that. Getting to spend my day off cuddled with him is my favourite time of the week.
