NEWT POV:

I shot the arrow and it hit the target. That's pretty good. I was confused that no one was surprised. I looked back at the people who were watching me. They weren't even paying attention. I'm not sure if it's because I'm the only human in the game or if I'm from one of the less popular zombie towns. They seemed more interested in their food. If Marcus is going to run these games then he should pay attention. I grabbed a arrow and aimed it. I shot the arrow and it broke the glass in Marcus' hand. The arrow hit the wall and the room was silent. All the adults looked at me. "Thanks, for wasting my time" I said. I put the bow back and walked out. There was more I want to say but I know it's better to stay calm. I am surprised it hit the glass and target. Finally the day of the games came. I couldn't sleep. The game starts tomorrow. I sat by the window in the living room and looked at the capital outside. I had my oxygen box over my shoulder.

I'm the only human in the game and it scares me. "Hey, can't sleep" asked Thomas. I looked at Thomas but then looked out the window. "Ya, just thinking about tomorrow" I said. Thomas came and sat next to me. I leaned on his chest as he held me. We looked out the window. "It's a big day" said Thomas. "I know, I'm just a little scared" I said. "Of what" asked Thomas. I signed. "Whatever the second I enter the game is when something happens? If anything happens and I have to become a zombie, I just don't know what is going to happen" I said. "Do you not want to be a zombie" asked Thomas. "No I want to be one. I'm just scared of the turning part. I don't know why" I said. Thomas grabbed a blanket and covered us up. "I would imagine most people are Newt. But you'll be okay. Nothing bad will happen. Marcus just wants a good show. We can hide and let the others fight it out" said Thomas. "Maybe, depends on what the game is" I said. Thomas kissed my head. "Whatever it is I'll be there with you. It will be okay" said Thomas.

"What do you think the game will be like" I asked. "I don't know, but we have nothing to worry about. I promise" said Thomas. We cuddled there till I fell asleep. We had breakfast and were sent into the games. Everyone stood on a pedestal. I looked around till I saw Thomas. 100 players. 100 bags at the center of the board. One for each player. I wonder which is mine. The time started to count down. If anyone leaves early they lose the game and that state it gets nothing. We watched the time. It finished counting down and we all ran to the bags. I searched threw the bags. Everyone looked for their bag and ran off. There was also extra stuff. Food, first aid, tools, ect. I found my bag and grabbed a bag of moldy apples. I took it and bolted for the woods. I was tackled and yelped. It was Thomas. "Sorry, I used too much force" said Thomas. "It's okay, let's just go" I said. We got up and Thomas held my hand as we ran. We made it a safe distance into the woods and sat down to checked our bags. I'm the only one with a air mattress. Then again I'm the only one that sleeps. The object of the game was to elimate the human.
