There was a time when a penny garnered excitement. A penny found. A penny for a wish. Penny candy. Penny bubble gum machine. Saved pennies in a jar. Now it is overlooked and devalued to the point that people round up or down at stores when making purchases. Sadly, our only copper colored coin looks to be on its way out...
The Prodigious Penny's Demise
Penny propagation puttered
Pennies buying power waned
Penny confection stores shuttered
It's buying power disdained
The copper-colored coin
Don't make their wishes obsolete
Bend, procure, in pocket conjoin
Don't leave behind on concrete
