Week 198 - Wraith (aka Sherlick Bones)

What was life a year ago? I really have to think hard since our rescue, Wraith, is so much part of our daily routines now.

Perfect Pup

Wraith fills our home with hysterics

He's an amazing entertainer

We're all wrapped around his wagging tail

Even his no-nonsense trainer

Bodily functions to relieve

Our fresh laid sod his toilet seat

No tink or pooh in public spots

Obey and I'll dispense a treat

Waking to his loud flapping ears

Shutters reveal no rays of sunlight

Reminding me I don't need sleep

Affectionate oath to recite

When I call his moniker

He's much too busy to comply

Squirrels, birds, even blowing leaves

Are being stalked as they pass by

His zoomies can be alarming

He's got one speed bulldozing the yard

Broke finger, sprained ankle, chipped tooth

I need to hire a bodyguard

His beautiful silken white coat

Induces therapeutic petting

Clothes and furniture now covered

In conspicuous fur shedding

Slipped on the freshly swept tile floor

Jarring an already wonky back

Wraith's muzzle a sloppy slurpy sight

Innocent looking demoniac

My arm is often rather sore

My knee is regularly aching

Leash pulling walks for exercise

Obedience class I'll be taking

Monthly grooming appointments scheduled

We're fortunate when they last a week

There're quite too many nasty things

To make his dirty stained body reek

Rotisserie chickens, hamburgers-

His demands are not a bit extreme

Homemade treats and healthy meal toppers

Day old leftovers are blaspheme

The perfect pup's been adopted

We wouldn't change a single thing

Except, perhaps those silent toots

That joltingly mushroom and take wing
