Trying to start up yoga routine once again since injury, operative word - trying. Failing miserably at the moment. Excuse is our twice daily puppy walks...

Yoga

With reluctance I start
Early morning routine
Ruminating excuses
Over a mug of caffeine

Close eyes and contemplate
An exercise strategy
Time spent on cushy mat
Must ignore lazy bones plea

Slowly execute a stretch
Inhale deep, two, three, four
Concentrate on steady stance
Exhale and strengthen core

In midair while standing
Firm grab of the left toes
Precariously list
Mucking up difficult pose

Point face towards the ceiling
Twist pretzel limbs about
Nothing is done in haste
Hold still until worn out

Serene sitting position
Contort the whole torso
Built up tension released
Noisy joints the status quo

Holding yoga side plank
Concentration briefly abates
Tear right rotator cuff
From arm pain emanates

That ends my daily workout
Perspiring hands and feet
Pushed passed limit and injured
Turn fan on high in defeat
