Baby needs a new pair of shoes... NO, momma does!
Shoes
In the pristine store front window
Spied the most fabulous shoe
Even though they're not needed
Body froze, could not continueEnter and ask for size nine in black
She brings one eight, one ten
Must try, maybe they run differently
Think positive again and againThe smaller size is much too tight
At the toes up front they pinch
Chop chop protruding appendages
Scrunched, stand and painfully flinchSlip into the larger size she brought
Slip being the operative word
Slip front, back and side to side
Foot health definitely endangeredThere are shoe stretchers and pads
Adding some of them might suffice
May even improve the heel and arch
To a shoe that's already overpriceFor fashion women do many a thing
The young they will suffer through
But age and wisdom abruptly collide
Comfort reigns; don't buy that shoe!
