Week 87 - Mishap Series - Cliff

Anyone reading my poems is familiar with my Mishap Series. It runs every so often within the larger work. I am poking fun at myself about "situations" that have occurred throughout the years. It is my light hearted way of acknowledging, through laughter, all of the ridiculous things that I've done.

Cliff

Should have stayed on marked path
Instead of prohibited route
Tobogganing with family
From behind they all shout

First run picked up speed
Hit the flat and we sailed
Second run even steeper
Uncontrollably wailed

Out of control sled
From second flat, airborne
Ending unconscious
Hazard signs did warn

Awkwardly angled leg
It looked wrongly bent
Awaking was painful
Injury ends event

I return to the house
Knee's huge and makes noise
Emergency room trip
Toes to hip, cast annoys
