Minimalism has its hard won days. Strolling a quaint tourist town, Galena IL., for a relaxing afternoon is fun. The avenue is filled with store fronts displaying wonderfully tempting local made goodies. I persevered and stuck to wine and liquor tastings!
Internal Struggle
Why think that thought
I don't really know
As a glimpse of myself
In the shop window
Wasn't quite sure
Felt an enemy near
Her name quite familiar
She was shopaholic fear
Frustrated by second guessing
Doubt takes me by surprise
Needling a fragile psyche
Plotting my demise
Willpowers weak
Whispers heard in the ear
Word repeated internally
BUY BUY BUY very clear
Buy that new phone
Buy those cropped slacks
Buy festival art
Buy cookie racks
Slippery slope
Between wants and needs
The old works just fine
Common sense intercedes
