Week 84 - Pajamas

I love a lazy day spent in a comfy pair of pajamas, but they can still be ba-das-io (bad ass)!

Pajamas

"I'd rather be home in flannel pjs,"
I overheard her say.
She continued on with-
"Then go to the beach today."

However crazed was she,
thinking such a ridiculous thing,
comparing flannel to the beach-
my esteem for her faltering.

Flannel's a toasty soft material,
and reminiscent of outdoors,
but it doesn't hold a candle to-
bamboo tees and drawers.

Flannel may have properties
of which I do not know.
But in looks what I see-
it's no Michelangelo.

To cheat on bamboo
that breathes so well,
what sacrilege-
I'll be no jezebel.

That boxy fit of flannel
which promises such comfort
may draw in easy targets-
but I'll not controvert.

Her pj's make a statement.
In public they should not go.
Mine can walk the beach-
without creating a tacky show.

So I interrupt her conversation,
"Have your cake and eat it too,
you can go to the beach in your pjs,
rid yourself of flannel, choose bamboo!"
