Week 43 - Water

Water

Effervescent tears of joy
Over the rim they leak
Tears of devastating acid drops
Trickle down the cheek

Rain drowns sounds and life
Torrentially waging war
Little transparent soldiers
Wet where dry before

Puddles of dark mirrors
Reflecting distorted images
No prejudice apparent
Constantly fluctuating ridges

Faucets, hoses, and pipes
Creating artificially guided brooks
Over surfaces they flow
Into pots for cooks

Chlorinated vessels called pools
Whose job to entertain
Surrendering to the moment
Joy unrestrained

Spring gurgling forth
A simmering goulash stew
Mother Nature's gift
Drink, irrigate, and power too

Stagnant swamp sludge
Where unspeakable creatures live
The thing of horror movies
Imaginations become overactive

Streams flowing ever forward
A current roller coaster ride
Fallen tree becomes a bridge
Short adventures vivified

Ripples along the lakeshore
Like a dog lapping
Tranquility instilled
By the lakefront pier slapping

Rivers murky mucky brew
Appears as a bracing tea
Transporting cargo to and fro
Often ending in a sea

Oceans salty infusion
Placating bubbles and splashing
Marine life's only home
Waves lashing and crashing

Warden of life sustaining molecules
Housed in a crystal glass
Cleansing life's dirty surfaces
Your car to your ass
