Jesse
"Tristan, I'm nervous..."
"I know, I can see it. You're literally shaking, " Tristan said, his eyes still not leaving the road.
"You're not helping," I pouted at him.
Tristan looked at me before he slowed and stopped the car at the roadside. He turned towards me and took my hand in his. "Babe, I've said this before and I'll say it again, nothing's gonna go wrong, okay? I'm with you. If they don't accept you, that means they don't accept me too and I'll never stay in a place where my existence isn't tolerated." He kissed my hand.
"But they're your family... "
"Family isn't decided by blood. They are people who love you for who you are... They'll support you, and be there for you in your best and worst moments. And if they don't, then they're not your real family." Tristan smiled. "Don't worry, as long as I'm with you, I'm happy." He leaned in and stole a kiss from me, leaving me a blushing mess.
Even though I was still worried deep inside, the rest of the drive was peaceful. We didn't talk much but listened to some calming music.
After a twenty-minute drive, Tristan turned to the street where the rich people lived. It was like the street Tristan's house was at—mansions left and right.
Tristan pulled up the car into a mansion that was three times bigger than his house.
I was gaping like a fish out of water. "What's with you rich people and unnecessarily big houses? "
Tristan chuckled. "This is what my parents call their 'humble home'," He laughed.
"If this is humble, then what do you call the thing l live in?"
"Don't think much of it, since my father is a businessman, he has to host business parties often. And where we live, how we live are things that give the others an idea about how capable and resourceful we are." Tristan ruffled my hair.
"Mhhmm... " I hummed as I looked around. There was a lot to see and I couldn't take my eyes off the view.
"Let's go in, " He side hugged me as we walked towards the mansion.
"I'm getting nervous again," I gripped my boyfriend's hand which made him peck my lips suddenly, surprising the hell out of me.
"It's okay, I'm nervous too. Let's be nervous together, " He laughed, making a small smile form on my lips.
"I love you, " I breathed out.
Tristan paused, his cloudy eyes raking over my face before stopping on my lips. "I love you more, " He leaned in and caught my lips in a deep kiss again before continuing to walk towards the door.
He didn't bother to ring, instead pushed open the huge door and went in with a stumbling mess of me following him. It was really hard to keep up with his long strides.
