Jake

I sighed, flopping down on the bench. It's calming here. The trees and everything makes it really cool.

Tristan is not saying anything. He disappeared to god knows where right after we got off from the class. Things are getting really boring without him.

I don't want to be with the other losers, who hang out with us just because they need something.

The money. That's the only thing they need. If it wasn't for Tristan, I would've never spent a second with them.

There are only a few good friends in our life. That's the thing with being rich and popular. Everyone around you wants something from you.

I laid down on the bench, looking up at the tree above me. I tried to catch some random leaves that fell down with the wind to pass time. I've got nothing else to do anyway.

"There you are," A voice suddenly made me pause. I looked around to find the origin of the sound only to find Dylan.

I sat up with a smile. He's a nice guy. I didn't like him at first but now I think he's not that bad. I had fun hanging out with him yesterday. I would have never hung out with him if Tristan was with me but I'm glad I did.

"Hey," I greeted him with a nod.

"I came to return your shirt," He smiled before he pulled out a paper bag from his backpack.

I was confused for a moment before I realised it. I totally forgot about the shirt. It suited him though. It was big but it was cute. Cute?  Whatever.

I shook those thoughts from my mind before taking the shirt from him.

"Why are you here alone?" He asked as he tried to sit beside me. He had to hop on the bench because it was a little tall. His legs were dangling as he sat down.

Pfft....shortie.

"Tristan is being a bitch again," I said, combing my hair back. A sigh slipped past my lips as I looked down. The thing with Tristan is getting really frustrating. Why is he acting this way??

"Oh," Dylan trailed off, not knowing what to say. "How's he now?" He asked, playing with the hem of his jumper.

"I don't know. Honestly, he doesn't even properly talk to me anymore. It's always some hums and nods. He looks sick and I want to help him but I don't know how... I don't know what's going on with him! He's hiding something. But why? Why from me? We never kept any secrets!" I spat out frustrated. I saw Dylan looking at me with his lips pressed tight. Shit. Why did I say all that to him? "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to ramble all that…" I rubbed my temple. This is going to give me a headache.

"Hey… It's okay," Dylan said, patting my shoulder. I chuckled at his awkward attempt to comfort me.

"Something is bothering Tristan. He needs to talk to somebody. He used to say everything to me but now..... Am I not that trustworthy?"

"Hey... It's not about you. As far as I know, you're really a good friend. It might be because of something else."

"Something else like what? "

"Err... I don't know that but you shouldn't jump to conclusions. You don't know what he's going through. It might be hard for him to accept it too. Maybe he's scared about how someone else would see it. He'll talk to you when he's ready to face it. Just give him some time and don't pressure him." I looked at Dylan for a moment before taking a deep breath. Maybe he's right. That does sound reasonable. I should give Tristan some time.

I was thinking about dragging Tristan somewhere and then asking him what the fuck is wrong with him.  Now that I think about it that would've gone really really wrong.

Dylan's cheeks turned fifty shades of red as I continued to smile at him. "That's really nice advice. Thank you." I said, giving him a nod.

He shrugged, playing with his sweater paws. I looked down at the shirt in my hand. The shirt reminded me about the first time Dylan and I met.

"It was a gift..."

"Huh?"

"You know the shirt that got ruined... It was a gift from my mom," I said, threading my fingers through my hair.

"I'm sorry, I ruined it. I usually apologize but I don't know what came over me then. And you were just... just....so-"

"Mean? " I asked with a chuckle.

"Kind of." He replied before looking down.

"I know and it's okay, you don't have to apologize. It was partially my fault too," I said smiling. " She... She gave me a gift after a long time… I was really pissed that it got ruined so I just took it out on you. I know it wasn't nice at all and I'm really sorry for that,"

Dylan just looked at me amused. "I accept your apology." He smiled at me and I laughed at his words.

We both smiled and sat there in silence for a few minutes before I broke it again. "Is Jesse fine now?" I asked him, tilting my head to look at him.

"Huh?" He looked at me confused.

"You know, you said he's sick yesterday. How's he now?"

"Oh... H-He's okay... Umm… He's getting better." Dylan said and I nodded.

"I hope he gets better soon. You look lonely without him."

Dylan chuckled and shook his head. " Yeah... I hope he comes back soon. I really miss him."
