A L I S O N N E - M O N T E R O
"BREAKING NEWS!
The voices are shouting at me. Then the laughs and the mocking tone, it's scary. Nakakatakot... I shoud be used to seeing this place every time I sleep, this is my dream. This is the dreams and shouts for help. But I can't help, I just can't. I am unable to dos so! I beg to help him, I beg to but I'm powerless.
But then he turned around and said these rhythmic words to me. There were no cries anymore, instead he was smiling like the devil, blood was pouring out his eyes, his lips were dark red, and his face was eerily scary. But I can't turn my head away, because I know him. I was one of those people who made him like this. A nightmare!
"It's Dark! Why can't I see Abstract?"
"Where is the star? The one that shines in are; the moon that hid for my desire. Agony! Die! Lingering like a dye. My brain and heart are in sire."
"Dark is a shadow, a shadow that hunts my sorrow. For all I know. I shall live without light to bestow."
"Help me. Where is everyone?"
"Have they left like the one, the one who treated me as special someone? Where are you? You, who I trusted for my tomorrow, but what you did, broke me thorough."
I breathe a mouthful of air and ibinuga ito. Oh, God. Nagulat ako dun.
With what's happening within me these days and how busy I am? My body is sore and beaten with so much endless workloads.
"Sino 'yan?" I made a bun with my messy hair before I heard the answer from the other side.
"Doktora, ako po ito."
"Yes, come in." I composed myself before Matilda comes in with my body fuel.
I smiled at my secretary.
"It's okay, Mat. Mas mabuti ng nagising mo ako." She handed me the coffee which I eagerly sipped.
I need to intake a lot of caffeine for me to survive working with this type of job. Well, it's no one's fault but mine. Wala eh, I love the idea of hospitals and patients.
"If it's okay ho, Doktora. Are you sure your okay? This days you look pale and stress. Nahahalata na po na wala kang tulog."
She's right. I'm stressed. I sighed and pause for a minute while looking at the space. Habitually, I tapped my fingers within the flat surface of my desk.
"Masiyado ba talagang halata, Mat?" I pout at her.
I look at her calm and serene state. Matilda has been my secretary since ever. Her mom works at the mansion and my family supported her schooling. That's why, ng magtapos kami ay kinuha ko siya bilang secretary ko, making used of her profession as a licensed nurse.
