Ivy types as Webber speaks, "By injecting methylene blue, is easier to identify the structures. What do you see, doctor?"
"Gallbladder, cystic duct, common bile duct," Lexie lists.
Webber nods, "Yes. Misidentification of the anatomy is the main cause of biliary tree injuries. Today we're trying this new technique... put those things away, people. No texting in my O.R. Save that for the drive home."
Ivy steps forward, "Actually, we're not texting, sir. Dr. Baileys performing a toupet procedure right now, and there wasn't enough room in her O.R., so we're just following it on Twitter."
"Twitter? What the hell is a Twitter?"

"It was open to all the residents except for one!" Ivy hears Meredith shout at a retreating Derek.
"Two actually," Ivy stands next to her.
Meredith looks over, "He didn't let you try either?"
Ivy shakes her head, "Nope, but I'm not mad about it. I'm not interested in neuro so good luck with that."
"Ugh!"

Derek and Ivy sit together in a conference room as they look through files when Mark comes in, "Want to what's really fun and not at all depressing? Alzheimers research."
"Callies having my baby."
Ivy begins choking on the water she's drinking. She feels Derek pat her on the back. Once she gets her breathing under control, she stands up and gives Mark a bear hug, "Oh, I'm so happy for you! Oh, what about Lexie? Arizona? Are you all coparenting? Can I babysit? I miss being Aunt Ivy and spoiling nieces and nephews."
"One question at a time, Little Shep," Mark calms her, "But, its the best news of my life. At least it would be, except for the fact that Lexie wants a baby about as much as she wants a root canal. I guess I could tell her I'm the baby's uncle. But I don't want to be the cool uncle. The cool uncles only cool till the kids, like, nine, and then the cool uncles just creepy. I'm the dad. I want this... and I want Lexie. I don't know. What-what do I do? You're the family with the answers. What do you two think?"
"How could Meredith and I try for months and not have any luck, and you look at somebody, and a baby appears?" Derek asks first.
Mark shrugs, "Sloans are unusualy fertile."
"You're a classic example of failing up."
"Not exactly the advice I was looking for."
Ivy points at Mark, "Okay, look, just be honest with Lexie cause the longer you hide this, the worse it will turn out for you. And don't let her reaction, any reaction, make this a sad thing for you. You're becoming a dad. Be happy. And you, Derek, remember, Shepherds are fertile too, but Meredith's body just went through something traumatic and is still healing. Soon enough, you and Meredith will have a baby and I will be the favorite aunt to both of your kids. Now go be surgeons."

Jackson is running around the hallways when he knocks into Ivy, "Whoa. Seriously, be careful."
"Sorry, do you know where Hunt is? Aren't you on his service?" Jackson looks around.
"Yeah, but he's at the dentist for at least the next ho-"
"Are you kidding me? Yang," Jackson runs off, leaving Ivy confused.
"And somehow this isn't the weirdest conversation I've had today. With the men in my life, what the hell is wrong with them sometimes?"

Lexie walks into the house, slamming the door as the rest of the house, minus Meredith and Derek, are sitting on the couch.
"I take it he told you?"
"Yes. And wait, he told you first?" Lexie flops onto the couch.
"He came to Derek and I, looking for advice. Lexie, that's his kid and I know Mark. Hes not letting his kid down," Ivy says.
Lexie nods, "I know that, but I'm not ready to be, what, a stepmother? I'm a third year resident, I-I-I can't-"
Ivy leans forward, "Did he ask you to? Or did he ask you to make a relationship work with him? At the end of the day, are you going to let him following his dream stop you from being with him?"

AN: this is a short, short chapter, more of a filler. But this episode had some important parts to include.
QoC: how do you think Ivy is going to react to Lexie and Jacksons relationship?
Thank you for all the reads, comments, and votes. Next part will be out in a few hours.
