Time: The twins are about 12 (who really knows what season that really is)
"Alexus Charlotte! Get down here!" Ivy yells up the stairs in their new home in Boston.
"No!"
Christopher, standing next to his mother, just sighs and shakes his head, "I just want to go to the park. But no, Allie had to choose today to be a brat."
Jackson chuckles, giving his son a pat on the head before trying his luck, "Princess, can you come down here, please?"
"I said, NO!"
Ivy looks at her husband, "This is your fault."
"How?"
"Don't worry, I have a condom," Ivy mocks him before rolling her eyes and turning back towards the stairs, "Alexus Charlotte, if I have to come up there, you can say goodbye to those presents grandma Catherine sent today."
"I don't care!"
Jackson looks down at his son, "Do you know what's wrong with your sister?"
Christopher, not to be out dramaticed by his twin, throws his arms out and huffs, "No. This morning when I went to tell her breakfast was ready, she threw a shoe at me."
Snorting, Jackson looks at his wife, "I'm not saying it, but she gets her attitude from one of us and it isn't me."
"If you would like to sleep in your bed at any point in the next week, you'll wipe that grin off your face and see what's wrong with daddy's little princess while I take the other kids to the park."
Kissing her cheek, Jackson heads up the stairs towards his oldest daughters room before knocking on the door, "Princess?"
"Go away," Alexus tells him, opening the door and going back to lie on her bed.
"I'm getting mixed signals. Do you want me to go away or do you want me to come i-" Jackson cuts himself off when he sees Ivy's glare on his twelve year olds face, "Okay, what's wrong, Princess?" He moves to sit on the bed next to her.
She flops around to face him before sighing, "There's this boy-"
Jackson cuts her off, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! What? I thought we agreed no boys until you were forty."
Alexus rolls her eyes, "No, you agreed. I just nodded my head like you do after work when mom starts listing all the chores that need to get done or when she tells you plans while you are watching a basketball game," She mimics the nod and glazed over look in his eyes.
"I don't-" Alexus raises her eyebrows at him, "Okay, but your mother and I have been married a long time and I have earned the right to do that. You, however, have not."
"Anyways!" She sighs, "There's this boy that I like and I think he likes me too but whenever we hang out during lunch or in between classes and his friends come over, he pretends like I don't exist! What do I do?"
The father of six scratches his head before shrugging, "Do you want a helpful answer or the answer I truly believe?"
"The one that doesn't lead to me being an old lady with thirty cats."
"Boys are dumb. They mature a lot slower than girls do, which means they don't understand the whole feelings thing until it's almost too late," Jackson hugs her, kissing the top of her head as they sit comfortably on the bed.
"But Chris doesn't act that stupid. I saw him pick a flower and give it Cindy last week," Alexus complains.
Jackson chuckles, "Well, Chris has five sisters and an older brother in college. None of you were gonna let him grow up to be the normal boy level of stupid."
Alexus nods, a proud smile blooming, "Well, duh. I may be the smart twin, but I can't let Chris just suffer completely."
"It warms my heart how much you two love each other."
"What do I do, dad?"
He sighs, "Well, if you really like him, maybe try talking to him. If this is just a crush, maybe just ignore him? I don't know, sweetheart, I'm a little out of my element here. Maybe try talking to your mom when she, Chris and the girls get back from the park."
"Okay," Alexus smiles and turns to give him a big hug, "Thank you, dad. I know this makes you a little uncomfortable but I appreciate you being there for me."
Jackson kisses her forehead, "Don't worry, I'll always be here for you. Always."

Ivy get home with the other kids, starting dinner when Jackson comes behind her and wrap his arms around her waist, "Hey babe, what was up with cranky pants?"
"Boy troubles."
"Already? How'd you handle that?" Ivy giggles, leaning back against her husband.
"Like a boss," He kisses her neck, "Apparently, our twins have crushes."
She laughs, "I knew Chris did. He told me last week. Apparently Cindy was one of the first friends that Chris made when we moved here. The only problem according to Chris is that she's also friends with Allie and that's not good for him."
"Of course not. The twin sister and the crush getting along? That's scary."
"Daddy!" Aria and Adelia come running into the kitchen, throwing their arms up for their dad to left them.
Jackson lifts them up, doing a couple turns before sitting them on the counter and bending down so he's looking them in the eyes, "You two won't like boys until you are forty, right?"
Their noses scrunch in disgust, "Boys have cooties."
"Good," Jackson kisses their cheeks.
