I felt the car jerk, and I woke up. I saw Carol look back at me and she said we were here. It was a huge prison with at least 7 gates. It seemed secure and safe, so I wasn't so worried.
Daryl parked the car, and they both got out I sat up and turned to get out. "Just be brave" I said go myself. I saw people come out and I sighed. Daryl opened up the car as Carol went to a man to explain everything. I guess he was the leader. "I gotcha." Daryl said as he reached under my legs and my back. He gently pulled me out of the car and everyone looked at me.
He brought me over last everyone and they saw me. I was bloody, hurt, and vulnerable. My 3 least favorite ways to be. It was so embarrassing. I just buried my head in Daryl's shoulder. "Don't worry. Everyone is always like this when someone new comes. They almost tried to kill me when just came." He said laughing. I smiled halfly.
Once we got in the prison he took me to their medical room I guess and I saw a couple of people walk in. Daryl set me down on the table and I made myself comfortable.
"Hey there, I'm Rick, the leader of this group. This is my son, Carl." He said motioning to Carl. Carl stuck out his hand and I shook it. He had pretty blue eyes and was taller than me, I'm sure.
Rick examined my ankle and he looked on the monitor. "Well, you've only got some bad bruises. We'll keep you on crutches for a few days, but you'll be fine." I smiled and said thank you. Then I saw a girl and a guy come in. "So who's our new girl?" She asked looking at me. She looked oddly familiar. "Maggie this is Lilly." Rick said.
She looked at me with a blank face and asked me.what my last anemone was. "Green...," I said slowly, "Maggie? Is that you?" She smiled and started crying hugging me. "OH MY GOD I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!" She wailed into my shoulder. "I missed you so much!" I said. "Maggie, I thought it was just you and Beth..." Glenn said. "I thought she was dead because we got separated. I'm never leaving you again little sis." She said. I got all excited. "Where's Beth and Daddy?! I have to tell them everything!" I squealed. They all put their heads down and Maggie started crying.
My heart dropped, and it dropped a lot." "W-wait. So they're...?" Daryl nodded his head yes. "But, but, no. This isn't right!" I said with tears brimming my eyes. "We'll leave you two to catch up." Rick said. They left and Maggie and I sat there for a couple hours catching up and sharing stories and comforting each other. What really upset me was that my dad and Beth weren't bit, or anything. They were killed on purpose, or accidental. That really upset me. At least I'm not alone though.
When we went to dinner I ate nicely, but I was starving. I haven't eaten for 2 days because of my lack of food. After dinner I showered and Carol brought me some fresh pajamas. They were leggings with a big t shirt. I slipped everything on and Carl showed me where I was sleeping.
I put my things down on the bed and looked around. He was standing in the doorway leaning on one shoulder. "What?" I asked. He shook his head and said nothing. "Where do you sleep?" I asked him. "Above you." He said smirking. Ugh another one of those.
I put everything away and felt my leg hit the bed. I stumbled back falling but Carl ran to me and caught me. "Hey, I got you." He said pulling me up. I smiled halfway and said thanks. "Let me help you." He said. "No I've got it, I'm okay." I said lifting my hand but he grabbed it and said, "Let me help you." I rolled my eyes and got into bed with Carl helping me.
"Now was that so bad?" He asked. "I do everything by myself you know. I didn't really need your help, but since you insisted, it's okay." "You're a toughie, aren't ya?" He asked. I nodded and fell on my pillow.
"Goodnight Lilly." He said smiling. His Smile was kind of cute- NO! Remember your rule Lilly. I told myself. "Goodnight Carl." I said. I drifted into a deep sleep.
