Carl and I were taking Judith for a stroll around the block when we heard the Pastor call our names.
"What?" Carl asked whipping around. I grabbed his hand to keep him from hitting him, squeezing it.
"You heard what I told Dienna about your group?"
"Yes."
"I was talking about me. Not you. Or your group. I want to help." He said.
Carl eyed him suspiciously.
"I-I could help teach about the church. I'm ready now."
"I think you need to tell everybody." Carl breathed out. You could tell by his tone he was pissed, but in the mood to listen.
He nodded, and smiled. Carl turned around and I looked at him in the eyes, raising my eyebrows. He rolled his eyes and said, "Come around by 3. Well start with a machete."
We were then off, back to strolling.
"Carl, Judith has started to grow a little more, don't ya think?" I asked him. He was looking somewhere in the distance, distracted. "Carl? What's wrong-" he cut me off as I turned and looked at me.
"Huh babe? Oh, yeah, Judith. She is getting bigger."
*Later That Day...*
"AAAGHHH!" Someone yelled and screamed out. I looked outside and saw people getting killed!
"CARL!" I yelled as usual grabbed my AK and strapped my boots on. He looked out the window and jumped up on our bed and grabbed the machete off the walls. He grabbed my hand and ran down the stairs with me.
"I saw them from upstairs they're busting down the walls!"
"You have to stay here and keep Judith safe. Both of you!" She said running out the door.
I looked at him and asked, "Is she serious?"
"Lilly, I know you want some action right now, but we have to keep her safe. Go scope out the house!" He said.
I huffed out a breath and ran to the other side of the house. I opened the door to the basement and slid inside there. Locking the doors and windows, more bangs and screams were heard from outside. A few times I yelped unconsciously, hoping they wouldn't be heard.
I sat next to a window holding my gun close, trying to see if I could see what was happening. The window soon was blown to shreds and flew all over the place.
"SHIT!" I whisper yelled. I tried moving to the next couple ones but they kept getting shot out.
"JESUS CHRIST! UGH!" I yelled as I fell down running up the stairs. I burst through the doors and panted while shutting it. I turned around and slid down the door making my head fall in my knees. I took a few minutes to breathe before I finally calmed down.
"LILLY? LILLY WHERE ARE YOU?" I heard Carl yell. Ahh, my love's sweet sweet voice.
"I'm here!" I said getting up. Carl swiftly moved around the corner and helped me get up.
"Are you hurt? Did you get bit?" He started bombarding me with questions.
"No Carl haha. Just my hand I slipped on some glass trying getting away from the windows." I had a small cut on the palm of my hand.
"Oh my God it's bleeding badly!" He said grabbing it and examining it.
I rolled my eyes at his ridiculous overprotectiveness. "It's a MINUSCULE." I said monotonous-like.
"Lets get you cleaned up." He said smiling.
That night we collected our dead and started burying them. We went to our houses and ate our dinner. I took my shower and cleaned my hand up. I went downstairs and hugged Carl from behind.
"My handss betterrr!" I said giggling. He huffed a breath and I could feel him smile. His attention was focused on a piece of paper. I looked at it and examined it.
"What's that?" I asked.
"I don't know." He replied after a few moments.
"Carl you're very tense." I said rubbing his shoulder blades.
"Yeah I know. Wanna give me a back rub tonight babe?" He asked turning around smirking. I smiled and giggled as we walked upstairs.
