Chapter 46

ANNN ANNN ANNN! ANNN ANNN ANNN! ANNN ANNN ANNN!

I sit up quickly and cover my ears. Brianna starts screaming and runs out of bed. I ran out too. We grabbed our weapons and shoes running out.

ANNN ANNN ANNN! ANNN ANNN ANNN! ANNN ANNN ANNN!

We ran out screaming seeing the others running for their lives. We finally reached the arena and piled out of there. I found my sister and ran into her arms.

Everything suddenly stopped and I looked up from my sister's shoulder. I saw Rick and the leader of Alexandria standing in front of us.

"What da hell was that Rick?" Daryl asked.

"That was the fire and evacuation alarm. We wanted to get you guys ready if we ever had to evacuate." The leader said.

"So you decided to do that to us without warning?!" Carl yelled at Rick.

"Yeah. No one would ever know if we were really having a drill. So be ready whenever it happens." Rick said.

"A warning would've been nice!" I said.

"Yeah but if we do have a surprise attack, you wouldn't know. You can't get used to us telling you that there will be a drill. So be ready." Rick said again.

I rolled my eyes and went to get breakfast. Zach and Mickey came over to Brianna and I. Zach hugged me. "You okay?" "Just shaken up." I said. My hands were literally shaking in mid air. It was scary.

After breakfast I put on some leggings with a sweatshirt and combat boots. I kept my hair down though. I wasn't in the mood to patrol the tower or gate.

I read a few magazines and relaxed the whole day. Mickey and I played some games too after he was done with the arena. At dinner, we had deer meat with bread and some salad. We were having a great time until we heard a bang and some yelling.

Carl walked in and angrily got himself a helping of food. Enid came in and slapped the plate down, making it shatter on the ground.

"ENID!" Carol yelled. "What the hell is wrong with you two?"

"None of your business! This is between me and Carl. None of you!" She yelled. Daryl got up quickly and lightly slapped her.

"Dont you talk ta her like dat! She's given ya more respect den anyone else here! Get yourself togtha ya whiny bitch." He said to her.

She started at him in awe holding her red cheek. She ran off with Carl running after her.

We all exchanged glances and continued to eat. No one said anything during dinner after that. Carol seemed upset but she seemed happy that Daryl stuck up for her. That was cute. I hope they get together one day. That would be nice.
