Chapter 66

*Michonne's P.O.V*

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT HORN?!" Everyone kept asking. All the walkers were going through the woods. The whole course was thrown off, and now they're all plowing through the forest.

We were moving along the way up into the forest to try and get out of there. Nicholas started twitching and a girl fell. Damn, these people are weak.

"It's coming from back home."

"He did this..." someone said. I stopped and turned around. "What?" I asked.

"He brought us all out here to die. He killed Carter-"

"Carter was dead already!" I said.

"We're good as dead!" He said.

"Hey! Calm down."

"The hell are you talking about? We are done! And it's because of him!" He yelled.

"Shut up and move! Come on!" I said through my teeth. These people weren't only weak, they were so willing to give up. Why would someone give up fighting when there's a chance you'll get out?

We moved on and Rick told us the plan. "Just get home. They need you all there. I'm going alone." He said.

"Hey, hey! I'm going with you you can't go alone!" Glenn protested.

"You need to help me Glenn. You need to help me get these people back." I said.

"Yeah. The thing is, they can't all make it. They fall behind, you keep going you can't save them all."

"Rick-"

"You keep going."

"AAGH!" We turned to hear screaming from one of the people who got bit right in the neck. I took my sword and killed them both. Rick took his belongings too. "Get back safe." He said then left.

"Keep up the pace guys!" I yelled.

"What if we walk back and there's nothing?" People asked.
"We keep moving in the same direction were gonna catch up to something."

"We're gonna catch up to a lot of things. And we're gonna end them. We have no choice. Keep moving forward."

We heard growls and saw walkers ahead. I went with Glenn and we started to kill them while the others watched. Well, they did for a little bit. That was before they tried to take matters in their own hands. A guy got bit then.

"I know what this means. We keep moving, right?" He asked. I looked around to Glenn in n it knowing what to say. I decided that we would keep moving, and kill them when the time came.

He kept checking his shoulder after that.

"Can I see?" "Please." I looked and made a face. It would on my take about less than an hour. I wanted to make conversation with him so it would take away from the surprise of me killing him. We talked about how his life, before and after the breakout.

Eventually we started at an old town. Looked like a war zone.

"Michonne? I need to get home."

"About half an hour from now. Well make it." I said. He nodded and walked off. We started walking quickly to find our way through, but unfortunately we were stopped by a herd of walkers surrounding and feeding on a man. We changed course after that. But we closed ourselves in. They were everywhere.

"Inside!" We pushed everyone into this animal store.

I discussed a plan quietly with another man, but he wasn't cooperating.

"Guys, how about this. We take these explosives, and try and distract them until we can get away." Glenn suggested.

"That'll take time."

"Ill do it." I said. "You go with them."

"It's my plan. It's on me." He said.

"You have a wife Glenn." I said. He breathed and shook his head. "While I'm doing this, I need you to get everyone back. If I don't come right away just go."

"I'm not leaving you here that is not the way this works."

"If I get stuck here ill find a way to show you guys I'm okay. I've just got to do one thing first."

*Later....*

Gunshots were heard, and the people started to get afraid. Walkers dragged themselves across the streets.

"The walkers from the alley, they're attracted to the gunshots." I said. "Soon as they leave, we're out. Till then, sit quiet."

Moments later, we heard bangs on the walls of the store. I drew my sword and opened the door. Walkers came out, and the herd came closer.

"They heard! They're coming!" They said.

I leant my head on the window and saw them all come. "They're coming." I said.

We broke out and made a run for it. The girl fell behind yet told us to run. As I watched her get eaten, I pushed everyone in front of me to go.

We were cornered in a gate and I tried to get over it. The walkers grabbed my foot and kept pulling me. I held on for dear life, hoping I wouldn't fall.

The guy next to me fell, and I came free and hoisted myself over the fence. We all watched him get eaten. I had years in my eyes, but pushed everyone to keep moving.

We cut through the woods and dragged this guy along. I looked up at the sky and didn't see smoke.

"Just because there's no smoke, doesn't mean they didn't make it."

Glenn where are you?
