The afternoon classes, which were two in total, finished by the time dinner was served. Jaemin stretched his arms above his head while he stood up, pushing the chair a bit. Without looking at those three vampires, the raven haired young man started walking out of the classroom. Both Jisung and Sungchan followed behind. They were all hungry and despite being vampires, they could eat normal food. It kind of amused Jaemin a bit, because the concept of vampires was such fantasy to so many people, but little did they know that half of the population in that world were vampires.
Yes, there were five types of vampires, which meant five types of personalities and powers. In the lowest category were the wild vampires. They were a few of them, hundreds maybe and they used to live separated by civilization, that is why they were called like that. Jaemin never met one in real life, but he knew they couldn't eat anything beside blood. The second lowest category were the hybrids, which meant they were half humans half vampires. This meant they didn't have powers at all and if they had, their powers were weak. Also they weren't many either, because most of vampires didn't want humans to know about their kind existing.
The third category of vampires were those turned into after death, just like Sungchan was. He died one year ago in a car crash and Jaemin's mother happened to be the driver. Because of his really handsome face, she decided to save him so she turned him into a vampire. Jaemin didn't consider the tall guy a brother, but they were indeed close enough. Also, the vampires turned didn't have any special powers since they never inherited ones. They only had the usual ones, such as super speed or super vision and not being able to eat.
The two most powerful categories in which a vampire could be born were The Death Angels and The Silver Demons. They were both purebloods, which meant that their powers were infinite but the biggest difference which made The Silver Demons the best category to be born in, was the fact that silver or any type of holly thing could not harm them at all. Also, vampire hunters could never realize what they were, because sliver demons were able to eat normal food as well. Well, death angels could eat too, but smaller portions, because if they ate too much they would get sick so the death angels that attended Sky Academy usually ate one meal a day.
"I'm not joining you guys." Sungchan suddenly stopped in the middle of the yard. "Just the scent of their food makes me sick." The tall vampire hissed while his eyes turned golden.
"See you later then." Jisung mumbled and waved his hand while he led the way back to the dorm. He was a Death Angel, which meant he could join Jaemin for dinner despite craving blood.
As the two reached the staircase, Jaemin turned around. He saw the tall figure of Sungchan in the moonlight, waiting for two more vampires to join him. The raven haired recognized them as Shotaro and Xiaojun, who were also turned vampires just like the brown haired tall vampire.
"Let's go." Jaemin finally snapped out of his thoughts and grabbed Jisung's arm. "I wander what's for dinner." The vampire hummed cheerfully. He was glad he was a Silver Demon, because he didn't crave human blood that often.
"Some fresh blood would be nice." Jisung mumbled in reply but got slapped by the older. "What?" He asked in confusion and rubbed his nape where Jaemin slapped him earlier.
"Watch your mouth." The raven haired male hissed and looked around, making sure no one heard them. Because they were a minority at that school, they had to be careful as hell. They were only thirty vampires there, including the Taeil and Miss Kim. The others were all simple humans with stupid brains and if someone would find out just like Yeri did, Jaemin knew that he would wish to be dead.
"Sorry." Jisung mumbled and stepped inside the cafeteria.
Jaemin didn't reply at all. He bumped his friend's shoulder and made his way to get the dinner and when he did, he sat down at an empty table next to a window. Jisung joined him and started eating his dinner in silence. What was unusual for the two that evening was the fact that Renjun joined them. He sat down across from Jaemin, with Donghyuck in his right. He liked to call the two, the most annoying couple he ever met in his life, because they were a great match in his opinion, but for some reason, whatever they had going on between them at the moment didn't feel like it would last for a long period of time. Lucas wasn't with them, sign he couldn't eat food that day anymore.
"Don't get your hopes too high." Renjun mumbled as he threw a piece of chicken in his mouth. "There were no free seats."
A chuckle escaped Jaemin's throat as he nodded. "Did I say something though?"
Renjun showed a smirk before he glared at him. "I never asked if you did in the first place."
"Did Lucas go after you know what?" Jisung almost whispered towards the brown haired vampire who nodded. His question made Jaemin face palm himself, but had to understand him. He would also go into those kind of days when he would only want to drink blood. "Can he bring me some? I'll pay if it's necessary..."
"Stop." Donghyuck looked at him then around. "Come to Renjun's room after. You don't need to pay us anything." The blonde haired vampire said and drank some water. "Does he crave often?"
At his question, Jaemin nodded. Yes, Jisung would crave blood once or twice a week, which was considered pretty often for a Death Angel. The could go without human blood for months if they drank animal blood instead, but Jisung was a different breed so he needed weekly human blood.
"Well, it is kind of often." Renjun stated and crossed his arms over his chest. "But not unusual. I also drink weekly because I can't help myself."
"So this is why you're interested in him." Jaemin said and glanced at Jeno, who, surprisingly, seemed to get along with two boys from a different class. They were both humans, but they seemed to be friendly with the brunette, because Jeno didn't seem too uncomfortable. "His blood does seem sweet and expensive." The raven haired vampire glanced back at Renjun who was trying his best not to smirk. "How sad you can't touch him."
"The rule goes only inside the campus though." Renjun chuckled and glanced at Donghyuck who just rolled his eyes. Of course he didn't understand, since he was just like Jaemin, a Silver Demon who didn't feel the need to drink blood that often.
"If Miss Kim finds out another student is dead she'll go crazy."
"Isn't she already?" Jisung asked which made the blonde haired vampire laugh.
Their interaction may have been weird to Jaemin, because they never got the chance to actually stay at a table and talk like this, but the atmosphere around them soon loosened up a bit. The next thing he knew, was the fact that they were in room 34. Renjun's roommate, who was a vampire named Yangyang, was out somewhere so he could easily give Jisung one bottle filled with blood.
"Thanks." Jaemin could swear his eyes shone a bit as he looked at the red liquid inside the glass bottle.
"You're welcome." The brunette shrugged his shoulders as if it didn't bother him at all which was true, because Renjun felt the need to help someone who was craving blood like he did.
They didn't stay there for too long, since Jaemin insisted that they should go back to their rooms. He waved at Jisung before going in the exact opposite direction towards the door with 23 on it. He didn't know why, but all of a sudden, he could smell the soft scent of blood.
"Shit." Jaemin whispered to himself as he reached the door and placed his hand on the cold doorknob. Yes, Jeno's blood was really tempting to him, but he was sure he could resist it. He did it for so long, why would he gave up now?
Taking a deep breath, the vampire pressed the doorknob and opened the door, revealing his new roommate, who was laying in his new bed with a book in his hands.
