When the two entered the throne room, Jeno's heart felt like it stopped for a few seconds. The tall vampire stopped in front of the open doors next to his cousin. His eyes wandered the wide room. Since it was the middle of the night, the burning candles were making the room golden. Still, despite the late hour, two vampires were standing by one of the wide and tall windows. His parents, Jeno thought while his eyes landed on Jungwoo's side profile. A smile was forming his lips as he looked back at the younger. 

"Go say hello." His cousin urged him with a hand that pushed him from behind, but Jeno suddenly felt like panicking. His hand grabbed Jungwoo by his wrist. "What's the matter?" 

"Don't leave me here with them." Jeno whispered to him, his eyes looking back where his parents were standing. They were now turned around, so they could face the two. The brunette didn't want to be left alone with them. He was too afraid they might drag him up to his room and lock him there forever. "Please." Jeno saw the way his cousin glanced at his parents, but when his grip tightened around his wrist, Jungwoo nodded. "Thank you." 

"No worries." Jungwoo pushed his hand away and tilted his head towards the two vampires. "Go to them." 

Jeno nodded and took a deep breath before turning around and walking towards his parents. How much has it been? Almost half an years since they last saw each other. As he got closer to them, he saw his dad wearing a velvet suit and his mom a white dress. On both of their heads, the young vampire noticed the gold crowns with a red diamond in the middle. 

"I'm sorry." Jeno mumbled when he reached them. He wasn't actually sorry, because running away from them gave him a bit of freedom for the first time in his life, but he had to act as if he was. His eyes looked at the floor since his father's gaze was way too much for him to handle. "I'm sorry for running away like that." 

"You do realize you are wanted right?" His father suddenly yelled, making both the young vampire and the mother flinch. His voice echoed all around the room. Jeno had to stop himself from smiling. So he wasn't worried after all, just like he thought. "If your cousin wouldn't have went after you they might have found about you. And you even went in the enemy territory. Are you mad?" 

Jeno clenched his fists before he looked up at his father. His eyes were golden and the way he was looking at his own son made Jeno want to kill him even more. His own father looked at him as if he was the one to blame. 

"No one found out, right?" His mom asked after few moments of silence. Her question made Jeno scoff.  

"Why do you think I got you the prince? Because I didn't have anything better to do?" The brunette hissed at her and glared back at his father. "You should be grateful since I found him and now his own family might end up gone. I did this not you, so why bother pretending to be worried about me when we both know you made Jungwoo convince me to come home earlier than I was supposed to for that filthy vampire!?" 

"Jeno..." His mom was about to grab his hand, but the vampire backed away. 

"Just stop pretending you care. Both of you." Jeno chuckled bitterly. "I got you our enemy so I would like to leave this place." 

"We both know that won't happen." His father growled and showed his claws. "You are the heir to the throne and you are not allowed to leave this castle again. Do you think I had a choice when I was your age? No. From now on you will never leave the castle grounds." 

"What?" Jeno blinked few times and stared at his parents. "You can't do something like this. I am allowed to leave this place wherever I want to. I'm not a slave or anything like this." 

"You are our son though." His mom stepped forward and held her son's hands. A small smile formed her pink lips. "We just want you to be safe." 

The young vampire suddenly felt the urge to cry. Safe? Who were they kidding? They made him go crazy and this was their reason? To be safe?
