Jaemin exited the dorm building after he had the talk with Jisung. He wanted to hit himself for thinking he could go with Jeno back to the main building, but actually, going alone might be better in case Miss Kim would suspect him. The raven haired vampire sighed and ran a hand through his hair while he walked towards the school. Despite seeing students relaxing in the grass and talking as if everything was normal, those three police cars that were parked in the yard made everyone feel anxious. Why couldn't the police just leave the case as suicide? They had no proof that someone actually murdered Yeri after all.

The raven haired vampire approached the marble staircase feeling really anxious for some reason. He cracked his knuckles as he climbed the stairs. Being the culprit made him feel so exposed, but since neither Jisung nor Sungchan had any problems at the investigation, he shouldn't have either. Right, he was a good actor after all, he just couldn't fool Jeno at all.

Jaemin stepped inside the school and was welcomed by a really creepy vibe. There was no one on the corridors, not even one soul that came down from the library. The teachers were also nowhere to be seen. The young vampire stopped in the middle of the hallway. Where should he go for the investigation? He forgot to ask his friends.

Sighing in frustration, Jaemin ruffled his hair and looked around. He could go to the principal's office, but Miss Kim might be with the detectives since they couldn't be left alone. It was already too risky since they were here.

"Where were you?" A familiar voice broke his thoughts and it made Jaemin flinch. When he turned around to face the person, he was met by Taeil's face. The short vampire had his arms crossed over his chest as he stepped forward and sniffed the air. The man sighed loudly. "You are not allowed to leave the campus boy. If Miss Kim finds out there will be problems."

Jaemin wanted to laugh and roll his eyes. Did that man even know the real reason why he had to be so protected? No, so he should keep his mouth shut.

"I saw you when you jumped the fence along with Jeno." Taeil showed a smirk as he came closer. Despite the fact that the younger was towering him, Taeil was more intimidating. "I could easily tell the principal that your roommate is a bad influence."

"I came up with the idea." Jaemin replied quickly. He didn't want Jeno involved in this since it wasn't his fault. "Don't involve him." The raven haired vampire let out a soft growl. "Also, as a teacher, you shouldn't be that interested in your students' lives."

His response made Taeil chuckle, but in his surprise, the vampire nodded. "I'm just doing my job, so you should have some respect as my student." The vampire's eyes turned red as he said that, but when he backed away, Taeil seemed like a normal human. "They're investigating the students in the library. You should go."

"Thank you." Jaemin bowed a bit and walked away from the short vampire. For some reason, Taeil seemed creepier than usual. Did he possibly know something? No, he couldn't... The raven haired vampire glanced behind a bit, expecting to see his teacher staring at him, but Taeil was already gone. Taking a deep breath to calm himself a bit, Jaemin started climbing the stairs towards the third floor. He was just paranoid because of the interrogation, that was all. Taeil couldn't know anything yet.

When he reached the open doors from the library, Jaemin stopped. He saw in front of him, at one of the wide windows, two detectives and Miss Kim. They seemed like talking about something and when the raven haired male stepped inside, he realized there were no students. The sight made him frown, since Jisung told him there were still some that had to be investigated, so where were they?

"Oh! Jaemin, there you are!" Miss Kim exclaimed and faked a smile. "Like I told you, this is the boy who found her body that evening." When she told the detectives that lie, Jaemin almost flinched. He tried to keep a neutral face when he approached the round table and bowed when he was close enough to the two men.

"Have a seat." One of them, a really pale man with gentle eyes, told him and showed a cold smile. For some reason, that man's face looked really dead.

Jaemin nodded and sat down on the chair next to the principal. He glanced at the pale woman and when he saw her glare, Jaemin knew he fucked up. His eyes quickly drifted away from her, on the two men in front of them.

"So... How did you find her?" The pale man asked and crossed his arms over his chest. He glanced at his partner, who already had his laptop open so he could write everything Jaemin would soon say. "What were you doing that evening at 7:30?"

"I wanted to borrow a book and I was with my friends since we were about to go have some dinner after. When we entered the library nothing seemed off at first, until we saw the scene. I...I remember Jisung screaming in terror when he saw her. Me and Sungchan went to her and I thought she was still alive, but her neck was slit and the knife was filled with her blood. We didn't touch anything though. I remember telling Jisung to get someone."

"I see." The same detective said. "Did you know her well?"

Jaemin shook his head. He never knew Yeri too well. He always knew her as that one smart and pretty girl from the class next door. Well, he did get to know her a bit better once she found out his secret, but he was not going to think of that.

"I know she was one of the top students here. Everyone knew her as a really happy person, so when we found out she actually committed suicide..."

"It wasn't suicide." The man interrupted him and glanced to his partner again. "That's why we opened the case again after such short time. There were fingerprints on the knife and for some reason, they were really well hidden, almost invisible." When he said that, Jaemin gulped. He was sure he erased them with magic. "We couldn't find the owner yet. It's really weird, since they seem not to belong to anyone in the record of this school, but it's pretty clear she was killed by someone from here."

"I see." Jaemin mumbled and played with his fingers a bit under the table.

"Thank you for giving us your statement. We'll call the school if we find anything." The same man told Miss Kim who nodded and glanced at Jaemin, telling him to stand dup and leave.

The young vampire didn't say anything as he stood up. He bowed again and left the library, feeling really sick all of a sudden. If his father would ever find out he would be as good as dead. He walked down the stairs and exited the school in a rush, not caring if he looked suspicious or not. His fingerprints were left on that filthy knife after all and the only way he was still safe was the fact that he charmed it and now those fingerprints belonged to no one.

"What the fuck did I do?" Jaemin ruffled his hair in frustration when he was inside the elevator. His heart was racing from the fear he felt in his body, but as long as no one would find anything, they will have no choice but the let the case as it is. When he stepped out of the elevator, Jaemin walked towards the door of his shared room with Jeno. When he reached it, he was about to open the door when he saw a letter on the floor. Jaemin frowned, but crouched and picked the envelope up.

To Jeno was written in gold.
